Over the years I have used different things like saran wrap, condoms, sleeves and attachment. You can even get different head like the one I linked below and have a different material on each top then just switch out the heads. During usage different materials can help bring different sensations. You will also find after using one attachment/material at the first few minutes may not be what she wants for prolonged usage. A water based lube works well. Any thin non abrasive material that can stay on the top can help. Depending on the material of the sock, I would not advise using a sock over the head.
