Pay For Play: a suggestion for an author challenge

Would it matter if it's not sex that's exchanged but it's still an exchange of cash for pleasure and is sexual in nature?

Because if so, I have one that would fit this already written and is based on a real event.
That works fine

Overall I think this is a good idea for a challenge - there are loads of possible subjects, and angles within those subjects. I can certainly see myself thinking of something to submit.

But... we've already had 12 open challenges this year, plus the contests, so I wonder how we might slide this into the calendar. Maybe if something else got bumped, I suppose...
I agree with you and @Voboy that there are too many of these things, but I've thought on this for a couple years now and why should I-or anyone else-hold back on an idea of their own?

I think the issue isn't as much the amount as nothing can be a one off, but has to be annual. That could change and either be a onetime thing-as I see this-or a stagger.

I don't think the issue is too many events so much as feeling obliged to participate in them all. (By the way, thanks all of you who participated in the two new challenges I set up this year!)

But I agree that events don't automatically have to be an annual thing. I wasn't planning to do WIWAW again next year, and instead of Pandemonium I was thinking about Dark Fairy Tales. Either way, just pitch your idea to Laurel and book your slot for next year.

I was thinking it could be twisted, fans that didn't get noticed paying for access to the band for sex. Maybe an older woman after a boy band. Attractive MILF, but not the usual fare to be invited backstage. Pays off someone in security for access. Once in she takes charge and puts herself into the role of Domme. There's reluctance, but ultimately surrender to her commands.

So, she pays to domme a boy band.
I would read that.

One of the issues a lot of us have is that the contests and, to a lesser extent, the challenges tend to get their entries prioritized in the queue, leading to downstream delays in approval of new stories. Many of those are going to be by newer writers or by people trying to get a series posted to a certain timetable, and who may not be AH people who know how to game that sort of thing.

I don't think that's desirable. I'm not blaming the OP; he's right to suggest it if he wishes. But he's asked for opinions, and I've given mine. I'm blaming the site, really, for approving so many of these. I think they tend to risk making the site something different from what they grew their audience with.

I think this really reared its head in the 750 word challenge. People were flooding the site with these things I think one author mentioned having over 10.

Maybe a limit to one entry per person would help, but since its not a site run contest, it would be up to the organizer to say that and I doubt anyone wants to piss anyone off.

Interesting fact is up until this year I hadn't entered an author sponsored contest since 2014 when I entered the last Fawc contest and the tag team challenge I created. But this year I decided to skip any of the official lit contests because I hit my bucket list of 10 W's last year. So this year I accepted Blackrandl58's Wicked Games challenge, Heyall's On the Job and @StillStunned what I wrote and why to support their efforts.

I'm gonna ease up on the challenges after doing them all this year, but a new one like this would be fun, and money sounds like a good reason for my MC to nude up for some women...if it happens, count me in! đź‘Ť

One of my personal kinks that I've explored many times in my stories is the pay for play angle. In one form or another, sex in exchange for cash or perhaps a service/trade. Thinking it could make a decent idea for an author challenge. It's October so I wouldn't consider trying to launch this until next year, then its about seeing if there's a window between lit events and the many other author challenges.

But first I figured I'd feel out the forum (feel out, not up, you pervs.) and see if there'd be any interest.

Simple enough concept to follow, some ideas common for the subject:

Porn star
Escort
Massage parlors with happy endings
Dominatrix

Those would all fall under profession, but there can be one offs:

Paying the rent with sex
Propositioning the young babysitter or maid to make some money for some extra 'service'
Paying off a debt with sexual favors.

Basically any scenario where sex leads to money or perhaps personal financial gain. Example, sex for a promotion or raise could count.

A popular 'reality' porn site features female realtors having sex with prospective buyers to get them to buy the house so she can get commission.

Stories can work with either gender, and I imagine just about any category, including Taboo where a family member can be in need and the other family member says I can give you the money, but you need to earn it.

Any takers?
interesting.

I write partially for research and partially because I'm nosey Smoking Fetish model profiles. The back stories to why these girls are addicted, the who did they start their habit and then I go into why are they selling pictures and videos of themselves.

Interestingly the first bit most have mental health issues and or sad up bringing from unstable families.
As for the why sell themselves. Partially its cash, secondly because of the mental health issues they tend to be stay at home moms. So can generate cash. Whilst pleasing the husband.

so this challenge i might be able to do!

I could definitely come up with something along those lines. There's always a MILF looking to pay the pool boy horizontally.

I've got a couple of stories in the works along those lines. One about a couple of girls who need money for a trip and decide to be sugar babies to raise it. I have another about an alien that can appear to be human and feeds on the energy of female orgasms. To ensure an ongoing supply of that energy becomes a gigolo. Let's do this thang!
