Homemade toys...

We just went to a tack shop near our home looking at crops the other day, so your advice is much appreciated and I'll be sure to look for the separator and hobbles when I go back to buy the crop. :rose:

I do have one question though: what do you mean by "sling"? Like for a suspension or sex-swing type thing (some of the swings I've seen were shaped like slings)? My imagination is failing me at the moment.

We've made a bunch of toys in the past two weeks. I'll try to post some pics and descriptions later today or this weekend for anyone who's interested (they're definitely not falling apart, Kailey! :D ).

One just about ready-made toy is an oak dowel we picked up for less than $1 at Dom Depot in the trim section. It could probably use a light sanding with fine paper and definitely a few coats of polyurethane/marine varnish for use with multiple people, but it's working fine for us as-is.

Does anyone know where to get smaller D-rings, for cuffs/collars? We've been unable to locate them at the Home Depot and a few other hardware stores thus far.

They do have small ones there, but they are hard to find. In with the screws. :) But I find it easier some times to find them at the craft store, tho they tend to be a bit more expencive.

Well... figured I would say Hi to everyone before we left the airport.
Got everything cleared thru customs (with some $$ & a bit of explination)
we have some WONDERFUL new toys :)
Lets hope they don't get confiscated or "lost" in the change-over flights....

But Hubby wants to go souviner shopping here so I will go.
(Plus at $3.00/min for internet is costing....)

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL !!!!!

This is my biggest fear. Taking my toys with me and having them taken from me. :(

There are a couple that I'm just not taking period, but I really want to take my floggers, and vibes and things like that. I want to take my cuffs too, but if I lost them I'd never be able to get such quality so cheaply again. And I can't wait to be questioned on them  I blush so easily.

Try the hardware section at WalMart, near the ropes and things.

A sling is indeed a type of sex swing. Slings are made of leather or webbing and hold the bottom/sub/whoever in a position where their ass and genitals are exposed and available. Hung from chains at the right height they are great for fucking, fisting or any kind of CBT or play. I love slings for just about any kind of sexual fun.

Nylon slings are washable, and if you are doing fisting or other messy activities that is a plus.

Here's an example from Mister S of San Francisco

This is the only type of thing I've been able to find by searching for stall dividers and separators:
http://images.auctionants.com/5-106634.jpg

It's a stall guard that adjusts from 40-48" and is 19" wide. Is this what you're talking about?

Oh, and thanks for the info on the D-rings, guys. I'll check the screw section, Walmart and craft stores in that order. :rose:

That looks similar to the ones I have bought. Mine must have been cheaper because they were not adjustable, but it looks like with very little work that could be made usable. They are also called stall guards.

Btw, just a question, but does anyone who looks at my AV have any ideas of how that 8 feet of rope could b used for some bondage fun as is? Just curious, because I have several ideas, but anymore would b appreciated.

I finally tried the minty toothpaste on the sensitive areas. A little does go a long way. But it was fabulous.

Those little bottles of liquid breath mint found on many convenience store counters are great too, though I've been told the cinammon is a bit extreme

I blush so easily.

Speaking of blushing...i went to a pet shop to buy some toys for puppy play over the weekend and the cashier asked me what sort of dog i had. i got flustered and blurted out the first breed that came to mind. i was blushing so much. i think i answered way too quickly for it to sound natural.

i ended up destroying one of the chew toys within the first hour of playing. Aren't these toys meant for big dogs with stronger jaws than humans? *shrugs* W/we ended up going back to get a couple new ones, which seem to be holding together well.

Depends on which ones you buy really as to how long they'll last. Some are very simular to regular stuffed animals and last seconds in a dog's mouth, so I'd imagine they wouldn't last long in your's either.

I remember shopping for a new collar at walmart one time. This lady came up beside me and started looking at two different types. She commented on how her dog chews thru his collars so easily she was trying to decide if she should get nylon or leather. I said that I think they are both about as easy to chew thru, so I would stick to the nylon at least that way she wouldn't be spending so much. Why spend $10 on a leather collar when you're going to have to buy a new one in a week. She agreed and then asked me what kind of dog I had. I blushed and turned my head down and then my tag hit my d-ring and she saw that I was wearing a collar. (very simular to what she was looking at infact!) She sort of got flustard and said "well it's a statement and I guess if you like it, it works for you." *giggles* then she ran off.

Good, plausible answer.

"I'm not really sure, she's just a mutt we picked up."

Practice, practice, practice until it's automatic.

I didn't have any problem with My toys on MY trip. I just kep them in checked baggage.

We bought some heavier suede and lacing this weekend. Until now, I've been making rope and vinyl floggers, so I'm very anxious to make a higher quality one!

Any ideas on how thick the falls should be for a thicker suede? I'd like a mix between stingy and thuddy (plus, I can always add sting by holding falls back).

Yes, but I'm traveling internationally, that's why I'm worried. On a domestic flight I could check my knives and not have any worries, but for this trip I've been ordered to leave them at home along with the tack board (and I guess the tack bra will be added to that) because he doesn't want me to run into any more trouble than nessisary.

Did you try it yet?

I'd go with some where between 1/4 and 1/2 inch personally. 1/2 inch is some times a little too thuddy I think. Of course all of this also depends on how many falls you use as well.

when a cashier asked me that when i bought one of my chain leashes, i started describing the puppy.... started by saying it wasnt mine it was my boyfriends, dark brown fur, eager to please, and a bit of a rebellious spirit.

So I'm window shopping ebay and I come across these:

http://64.17.155.227/ikea/curtain-clip24.jpg

Any one played with these before?

They look like they have a lot of potential for adding weights to and such but the little teeth look a bit scary. Any ideas how I could lighten their bite?

I have had something similar which actually had the teeth at the front and along the sides and were very sharp. Every breathe was excruciating and he made me drive over an unsurfaced bumpy dirt road for miles, in a manual vehicle which meant changing gears regularly, not to mention braking a lot. It was a memorable experience indeed...oh he also had a chain attached which he tugged on regularly.

Best idea on the knives would be to check with the airlines about it. You could always say they werer a gift...they are used to geting asked about all sorts of things. I imagine if it were in checked baggage it might be OK, but then I don't know the laws in Ireland (that is where you are going to be going, right?). As far as I know, knives are a big no-no in the UK, so it could be an issue.

Catalina :catroar:

you have a good memory. ;) (I haven't mentioned where he is since he changed his location on his profile. I'm still trying to grasp his reasoning for changing it *giggles*)

He's talked about a few laws there that have me concerned so knife play just isn't going to be part of the agenda. :( Some one mentioned mailing them once, but that would be about as big a no no as taking them with me. *sigh* all the more reason to keep trying to convince him to come here insted. :D

OMG... i just noticed no1 has mentioned this yet.

Okay, you know those belts, where instead of using holes or anything, it uses to d rings, you take the end, lace through the first two, pull back over the first, then under teh second? Well, c'mon, they can be tightened all the way down to a wrist cuff, or an ankle cuff, and it'll work for ANYONE, no need to worry abotu sizing or anything. They hold up REALLY well. The tail end can be used to tie them to e/o, or to something else. they can be taken through airports and anything wiht ease, cus it's just another belt to them. They're generally the perfect width to keep tehm from doing any damage, yet small enough they're aesthetically pleasing. They can be easily foudn in any color you want, and finally, though they'll hold tight, can also be loosened quickly if nescesary.

A.K.A. My idea of teh perfect restraints for begginers :D

If someone is into public bondage, here are a couple of ideas.

Some gloves have clips that keep them from getting lost when not in use. Keep the gloves clipped together when you wear them and your hands are bound. Voila!

If you have an old hoodie/sweatshirt with one of those big pockets in front, cut a hole in the pocket. Put a set of handcuffs under your belt and then through the hole in the sweatshirt. Close the cuffs around your wrists. This way you can't move your hands out of the pocket or away from your body.
