Are you sure? I've seen so many crap movies that really could have been great, given the basic material (i.e. story).

Other than that, I agree somewhat with what you say. Some photos are average, some good, some spectacular. I've also seen some discards that I, personally, found better than the ones that others found good or spectacular. It's partly a question of taste, and people have different tastes.
