My girlfriend, who I've been with for the past three years now responded to an ad that I posted at Match.com .

We first met online 2 1/2 years ago and met in person a week later. She moved in with me the week after that and we've been together since then. We're engaged and will be married this summer.

We met online SSHHH don't tell anyone!!!!

The "how long before you slept with your spouse" thread made me realize more and more are actually meeting online.
How did you meet your S.O. and how long have you been together? Perhaps I'm looking for love in all the wrong places..

I met my fiance on an online dating site. I was a little embarassed about it but we are still together after a year we just bought a house and had a baby boy about a month ago.

I was on the site for about a year before we met you have to weed through a lot of questionable people on those sites but I guess you would get that anywhere.

Good luck and I hope you find love!!! :rose:

We met at college, me the student, she the accounts officer!! We were18/19, got married at 21 everyone said it would never last but 18 years later we're still here and going great guns!

must say we've had our ups and downs, and having a six year old daughter sleeping in a bed across the room from you doesnt do anything for your sex life but there you go. I wouldn't send her back!!

i have to say I'm amazed how many people have met in the world of the net, and taken it real - big up to ya - it think thats cool.

Met mine when I visited a friend of mine that was working at a retail store and she was the manager. We ended up having sex on our first real date, 15 years and two kids later we are still together.

I am happily divorced now. Don't want to think about how I met him. I'm happier having left.

my boyfriend was a friend of a friend which is how i met him, but i did the majority of my flirting online... he lives about 200 miles away... but it's been about 10 months.

Met my SO through a guy who was a friend of the person I was with, the SO was his roomate. I was instantly stricken, but I was still in a pretty intense relationship that had lasted for several years at that point. When I broke up with the waste of flesh I had been seeing, I was over at the SO's house, and mentioned that I was single again. The SO said "I'm sorry," to which I replied, "I'm not," and we've been together since that night.

Eight anniversary coming up shortly. Who says there's no such thing as love at first sight?

Back in 1979, I met my husband when I was a sophmore in high school. He was a senior. He went off to college and we had a long distance relationship that lasted for about a year and a half, when we broke up. About a year later we got back together again. We married in 1984. 22 years, three kids, 6 jobs, and two houses later, we're still going strong.

No matter how many how/when stories I hear or read, I really never get tired of them. Guess I'm just an incurable romantic.
