no, it doesn't have to, that's a fact. However, it would still be the wisest option, in spite of the protestations of a few control freaks who can't handle the idea of people disagreeing with them.
Like most publishers, Lit has house rules - even though they are pretty liberal. It is not a question of free speech, just a question of target audience and marketing. The cost of free hosting a bunch of dirty stories has to be recouped in advertising and the brand protected. Extreme non-consensual violence is not part of the brand.
Here, on this forum, there is no moderation and you are free say what you will. The 'offending' story could be posted without censorship.
Seems the author is more streetwise than some posters here.
