When did I start
I started when I was quite young i used to put on my sisters sexy undies and wear what was fashion then her maxi dress.
It really got slightly better when I first got married because i was allowed to wear her sexy basque, stockings and high heels, then the kids were born and my time as joanne disappeared until about 10 years ago.
My first visit to transformation in Manchester, where i was dressed fully as a woman for the first time and then it careered on from there to a first outing shopping and building my female wardrobe up until a couple of years ago when I started going to sparkle and club xes in sheffield which sorrowfully is no longer open for business.

I started dressing up i guess in middle school when I started gaining my social independence. I have no idea when the average age for that stuff is, but that's when I went through it. My "clique" was primarily with what was considered I guess to be the rocker/goth scene. This was in the mid 90'sbefore it RE-trended and we were commonly just jeered at by people who in later years were mimicking the same fashion. 
Anyways, I took a slightly different take on the "goth" look and while at first I was merely androgynous, I got a bit more girly as the years progressed. I started with chokers and leggings and makeup, and eventually moved on to long skirts and lashes and such. I'm not sure if it would be truly considered cross dressing as my dress style was more of an obscure take to an already dwindled subculture. But to be technically correct, I was dressing in female attire.
There was a period of time in my life when i was just too caught up with anything to pursue it anymore, but after the end of my last real relationship I found myself with both the time and bank roll to fully explore and accessorize my look.
Currently, I don't even own men's clothing anymore besides a couple of pairs of pants and t-shirts for dirty work around the house.
