The simple answer is that I have gotten trapped in an alternate universe where words are pictures and pictures don't exist except in your mind.

The complicated answer is:

I have had a perfectionist relapse. No matter how many ideas I come up with, none are good enough, or real enough.

I even destroyed all my old work a few months ago... I regret it now but I did it.
