How often do you visit the story section of lit?

I tried that once too, and found out the "Hot" stories were by far the worst ones there. Go figure.

the "hot" usually means they're "wank-off" stories. I try to look at the main section, not the toplists, and just keep opening and shutting stories until I find something I like. Usually the best written stories only have a 4.2 or so.

You now I'm your biggest fan red ;)

Speaking of the story page, you people go read MY stories & vote :D

I've started on a new story & am working on part 2 of "Her Master's Eyes"

SO GO READ :p

well, can't say no to a request like that = )

i visit the lit story section quite frequently, i would say several times a week at least. i have many old favorites that i read again and again, and i'm always looking for erotic new stuff. my favorite stories are incest between father and daughter, that isn't 100% consentual if you get my drift. second fav would be nonconsent between white men and black women (with the white man in the Dom position of course). also i love the extreme section, with the nonconsent stories there and the beastiality stories. i don't read the bdsm section often since most of the stories are too gentle, lovey dovey for my taste.

We keep having things in common - those are some of my favorites too! Though I actually prefer the opposite in the interracial department...why do you say "of course" to the white Dom? I don't find the BDSM section too lovey dovey, though I admit it is gentle. The stories in there aren't usually romantic in my view, but they are pretty tame in terms of interaction and experiences. I find the BDSM more appealing than Loving Wives or Erotic Couplings, and while I do check out and love Extreme, it's a smaller section that's less frequently updated than the rest of Lit.

I have to admit, though, the anal rape stories are among my favorites. Anybody feel like writing Daddy-rapes-daughter's-ass smut for me? ;)

Agreed, I should have clarified that wanking is usually my sole intention for visiting the story section.

I can appreciate that there are some good writers at Literorica, but it is very difficult to sit at a computer and read an entire novella. It is just too hard on my eyes and posture to spend so many hours reading a computer screen.

I don't want to print them out at work and I have a rinky-dink printer at home that uses a toner cartridge every 500 sheets.

anal rape is cool if it's nice and brutal... ...but i can't stand a story that revolves around anal (or any other one particular activity), gotta have variety. ;)

i've never even been to the loving wives or erotic coupling sections. incest, interracial, extreme (nonconsent and beastiality), with the occasional peak into the bdsm section are where i hang out. i'm into white man on black girl rape because well, i'm a black girl that likes aggressive white men. :) but those stories are sooooooooooooo few and far between. maybe i should write a few of my own.

No enough

I don't come here until all my "serious" work is done. Between posting, writing, and reading I never feel I've done as much as I'd like before I knock off.

I resent that :p
Sorry ;) Judging by the fact that I've maybe clicked on all of a handful stories in my time here total, I'm not really going by much <g> Most were rated "hot" though and I found them to be anything but. Different strokes for different folks...literally...

Hey, I might resent that H remark also. I'm working on a new story someone suggested a little for, and I don't think I've read much like it here. I will give you all a little glimpse at some point if anyone's interested. It's going in BDSM, but I think it may have a hint of most of the categories by the time it's done.

Actually judging by the length it may be much longer than a normal BDSM story, and I'm tired of doing chapter stories. So one long story is due.

Now that I wrote that it looks like a stupid post but oh well.

I like to read incest, bdsm, and anal, so I tend to write more in those. Although with this survivor contest going on I have written in every category but extreme this year.

The only suggestion I will make is for anyone that wants to read a little incest mixed with BDSM to look up the "Rose's Awakening" series I wrote. Yeah, a little self promotion but it took a lot of time and effort to write. But the first chapters need revised for editing, something I'm long overdue to do with a lot of my earlier works.

I generally go read things from writer's I know nowadays. Simply because the ones I am familiar with tend to write better stories than the average joe. But I'm not opposed to reading anything anyone suggests.

Oh by the way if you want to find the Rose stories instead of posting a link I will just suggest you click the "My Stories", link in my sigline.

I so off topic tonight. But enjoy your evening everyone back to writing.

ok, go read my H story & see if it's anything but :p

Stories on Lit

I actually found the stories on Lit before I found the Forum...but I find that I am pretty particular about what stories I will read. If I do not know the person, or if the story isn't written about me/for me...then I generally don't read...unless I stumble upon an excellent Non-Consent story...which happens to be my fave category...but far too often I find myself stopping before I get to the end of the story. Ones I really like end up bookmarked for future reading ;)

What is hot to me is usually not hot to the next person and vice versa...it's not really a matter of how well a person writes, it is the subject matter and how well the reader relates it to their own fantasies or experiences or desires.

Your story was well-written and erotic, but did not push my buttons since I am not a new sub discovering BDSM, blindfolds are a huge limit for me that I don't even enjoy reading about, I don't like stories that have the "Master" title in them as it is one that I personally do not like and will not use, and I'm bi-sexual with a preference right now for women. All of those things make the story not hot for me. This is not a reflection on your writing skills at all, just my preferences in what is a turn-on.

That certainly doesn't mean the story isn't hot, which was my point in this thread...that judging a story by its rating and only reading those with a hot rating is rather limiting because everyone's tastes are so varied. Some people are not as particular about what turns them on, so reading hot stories would work great for them. I'm VERY particular so no, it doesn't work for me.

One of the hottest stories I ever read, although I can't remember by whom or what the title was anymore, had an extremely low rating. For me, it hit every button I had and was fantastically written. I feel the rating system is misleading and not a good judge of quality, so the few times I DO read a story...I ignore the rating and look for titles and descriptions that catch my eye and match my desires.

I like your points....I feel the same way...the things that turn me on and get the juices flowing are certainly NOT the same things that someone else might be getting into.

I also do not really care much about how great the author is or isnt on a particular piece...I care much more about the imagery....and the elements of the story....the ones that speak to ME and cause an emotional and physical reaction in ME....only I know what I like, so only I will know it when I see it.

I don't make a habit out of it. I enjoy reading things that are written for me, but not erotic stories in general. Now that I am writing a story, it's kind of interesting to check out the new bdsm stories just to see what is being written.

At least twice a week,just to make sure there's something I haven't missed:devil:

visiting the lit story section ??? A WHOLE LOT!!!! LOL

well.......... ya know that your brain is your largest sexual organ; so if you stimulate that then you are set....

and think about it you can be the director when you are reading a story ; you can visualize and make the characters as you want to see them......

Hey, yer the one that told me to read it <g>

Actually I did read that one too, and I even suggested it to a friend that loves vampires, so :p

I try to read stories and poetry once a week, or so. Most often, I visit the 'Poetry Feedback & Discussion Forum', or the 'Authors Hangout' to get tips on what's new. Another good place is the 'Awards & Contests' forum, to see who the author and poet nominees of the month are... most often posted on the 15th of each month.

I've written a couple of stories, but neither are truly BDSM oriented. A more recent story about ice play grew from a fantasy that could become reality very soon. Of the poetry that I've written, only one is worth reading -- it's linked to my sig line. I had a bit of fun creating the visual imagery in that one... painting a picture with words. I'm an artist, not a writer, but learning how to create something with words has been a lot of fun.

I tend to not read the "most read stories on Lit' because I find that term meaningless when it comes to quality. There ought to be a category for "most often jerked off to," and another for the ones that are well written. *wink* I often search for keywords in specific categories to find things to read if I've exhausted other means.

Outside of recommendations at the literary forums, I have favorite authors that I read regularly. Those whose writing style and content are consistently excellent. Favorite story categories? BDSM, anal, non-consent, and erotic couplings on occasion.

Actually, I visit it quite often. I enjoy reading erotica, always have. ("I only buy Playboy/Penthouse for the articles!") Does depend on my mood though.

I don't restrict my reading to any one "category" either, although I tend not to read anything from the non consensual area.

I do the stories every time I am ovulating and have a day off to just read and rub and read and rub and ... What is that--like 13 times a year?

Aha, I didn't remember that you're black! I knew it from your IM name, but I didn't remember. I guess I tend to be pretty colorblind online.

My only story is in Erotic Couplings because - well, that's where it fit best. It was very much a D/s situation, but when I wrote it, it didn't come out that way. That's probably why I don't write much fiction...I am wayyyy too clinical and analytical.
