43. The last birthday that seemed like a milestone was 25. Every birthday since then has just seemed like another day. Some days I do pause to think about the fact that I am somewhere at or near the halfway point of my life, but I spent a significant amount of my younger life being too serious and trying to be older. One day I finally realized that I'd get there eventually, but in the meantime I was wasting time away trying to be something I was not yet. So since my early 30's it's been a progrssively more successful journey to just be the man I am now, not who I was last year, or who I might be next year. In short, young enough to still get in trouble, but old enough to know the consequences.
