Okay, this is a fun thread.... full of ideological banter and tons of "isms" that quite frankly took the left for a whirlwind of ride. Anyway, I would rather focus on answering the original question based on my own experience. My wife is 40 and I am 50, and we had a similar conversation about 7 years ago. We tried every possible thing we could think, the bars, singles events, swinger parties, gay/lesbian bars, etc... Nothing seemed to pan out. When it finally happened, it was totally unplanned and spontaneous. We were at a casino here in So. Ca. and I just started talking to this cute girl in her late 20's on a slot machine next to me. My wife soon joined us in conversation, and they just clicked, the connection was made in a span of 1 hour. It wasn't long before we were at our house and exploring new frontiers. We have had several other experiences since then, with both women and men, and I can say that it will come if you're just open to it. It seems there's an energy or some kind of inter-connectedness that happens when the right person is in front of you. We have tried other planned approaches following that first interaction, and they all felt staged and somewhat awkward for either one or both us. I would recommend just going out and having a good time, making sure you're open to meet the right person. There's nothing very intriguing or attractive about a couple sitting at a bar looking like they're scouting the room for something. They appear odd and a little scary to many. The couple on the dance floor and having a good time is the one that they're looking at with any kind of desire. It will happen... if you let it.
