i admire people that plug their own work,
something i stoop to on occasion

just keep leaving comments harry, ah, except that valium one

sometimes the proper framing helps

often when confronted with a poem i ask myself

what in the hell is this asshole up to?

i'm surprised how it clarifies things in my mind
read a poem like a legal document, or some dubious email from your boss

and then you might get that rare warm and glowing feeling

Well you don't need to yell at me, as I generally agree with you. Also I haven't commented for a few days, but I will later on, assuming I have power. Yes, even here in the mountains of Appalachia, Sandy wants to reach out and give us a hug. They're calling for high winds and a bunch of snow, but I'm guessing we will see more of the former and less of the latter. I have to go buy batteries and stuff but if I disappear for a few days, it is safe to assume power outtage.

Also you are wrong, I think, on one point regarding our earlier convo.

I don't think this is odd. It's much the way I feel when I know someone has read my poem. I may not hustle back and conspicuously thank everyone who's read and commented but if I actually pause to check my posted poems and the comments on them, then I'll spare a word of appreciation. I think everyone's time is as valuable as my own, so giving thanks for their time, no matter how obscure the comment, is small payment in return.

Geez I just hate it when there's no like button here. I think Laurel should add some!

All I see are the same passages repeated again and again with no explaination just the odd remark.Thing is I don't know where to go to get your answer if you're kind enough to reply because I take it giving out your E-mail address or personal number is a no no. I don't think you have to worry about people mentioning other sites because they'll find them out all on their own if they stay here too long.

... Awww, it's not that bad.... the first thing you need to do is find your CP (control Panel) everything is fairly straight forward from there... I believe the Story/Poem index is down because of the storm up north... look at the top left of your screen (here) and see user CP and click on it.

Some spontaneously bring out a Wow or holy shit or Jeez-wish-the-turn-of-phrase-had-a-twist-like-this-or-that, but I still firmly stand by my own inference of commenting anonymously. Unfortunately, anonymous comments out here are frowned upon and often abused. Consequently, I stopped commenting altogether. And posting. But this forum has some superlative poets. I doff my hat to them. All of them. It truly is a great learning experience.

Neither fear nor inertia. A properly analysed conscious decision. Go figure.

Oh, do I now owe an explanation about why I "bother reading most of teh poems"? Because I want to read them. Some warm the cockles of my poetic soul, few hammer the point home, but all of them teach, some way or other... Go figure this too

Good to see/read you. I think Twelve Oh has already started one along those same lines, but I agree a title is a powerful thing.

I also write and have found that the title is often the hook that draws the reader within the web of the story (or poem)

As to titles ...here is one I am working with (an old idea that will not bend to my will ...yet)
