I have questions about bdsm

Did you know the How To forum gave birth to the bdsm forum?

Yep, It all started here with one big thread we called the mega or monster thread. From that, we got our own forum. It was 55 pages long.

I really should stop posting when I'm tired. Given all the recent discussion regarding HT Cafe v BDSM Cafe, I got confused. Are you referring to this thread?

Interesting to know. I'd never have guessed it originated on HT.

Yeah, not many stuck around. RisiaSkye is a mod of another forum and probably lurks some.

I really learned about BDSM from someone I was chatting to on here. After chatting for a while he mentioned that some of the things I mentioned were encompassed as a part of BDSM. I started to research and low and behold I found my calling. I am still learning and evolving in my journey but so far have enjoyed most of it. The one who started me on my path is no longer active here or even on other sites, but I am so glad he started me on such a wonderful journey.

When did you know there was such a thing?

=> I'm British. I think we grow up knowing that such things exist...

Do you think we are deviants? Crazy? Scary? We have thick skin so don't hold back.

=> I think I did until about 9 months ago. I started writing erotica and reading other people's (on another site) and was surprised and somewhat worried that I found the bdsm stuff so arousing. But I already knew that I liked to be spanked (the part of me that thinks sort of warred with the part of me that feels the first time it happened to me). And I also knew I had submissive tendencies.

What if your non-bdsm partner wanted to try it? Would you?
(We call those people vanilla. Some people find that offensive but I don't think it is. It doesn't mean we think your sex life is boring)

=> Personally I don't find vanilla boring as a flavour. It can be subtly delicious. However, now I've discovered tutti-frutti, I don't think I will be able to give it up. But, I'm not entirely sure how far I will go. My thinking part is constantly warring with my feeling part, but I find myself doing things (gladly) that I would not have entertained a few months ago. No, it isn't a question of boring vs. interesting. For me, in many ways, it's about feeling vs. thinking.

=> No, I did not, but I feel there is a similar vibe there, so that makes sense.

My first taste was finding a friend's father's dirty book stash (with a decidedly kinky vein) when I was quite young. I found it fascinating and not nearly as gross as my friend did. I guess I was an early bloomer.

Then there was this movie , terrible movie in general, but this scene had me creaming my jeans.

And of course the Anne Rice novels, plus I also have always harbored a fondness for Victorian pornography, so chockful of spankings and canings I'm surprised anyone ever got anything else done.

I have always been open-minded so if a partner asked me to do pretty much anything, I'd be likely to give it a go--as long as it was legal, and didn't make me go "ewwwwwww!" However, in my case, giggling is to be expected when placed in a new situation. I'm a stress giggler.

As to scary deviants. . .um, aren't we all?

I never knew exactly that there was such a thing until I was probably in junior high or something. I thought BDSM = kink, latex, leather, whips, chains, pain, and power games.

I do not think those "into" BDSM are crazy, scary, or deviants - it's all relative. If everyone was into BDSM, vanilla sex would be crazy, right? Also, I believe that kink is really just what people don't kiss and tell about.

I have no BDSM experience, but am curious to try it or at least learn more about it. Perhaps my imagination will satisfy my curiosity, but I need more information to fantasize more effectively.
