Good Morning April, Nrse (if you're lurking out there), and everyone else young and not so. I hope you are having weather as fine as we are. Gorgeous morning! Sadly, I've got time for one more cup of coffee and then it's off to cubeville... :)

Cubeville........Makes me break out into a chorus of

Fah who for-aze! Fah who for-aze! Dah who dor-aze! Dah who dor-aze! Welcome Cubeville, Welcome Cubeville, Come this way! Come this way! Fah who for-aze! Fah who for-aze! Dah who dor-aze! Dah who dor-aze! Welcome Cubeville!

Sung to the theme of "Welcome Christmas" by the whoos :D

Hello NRSE and sorry I missed you.

I eat pretzels very rarely, usually when I make my "Nuts and Bolts" at Christmas. Did anyone but me know that pretzel dough and pizza dough are the same thing?

The music quotes were unknown to me, but if it's past 1985, that isn't abnormal. I was an "oldies" DJ and grew up in the 60's.

Well done, Nrse! You never stop impressing me! :) I hope everybody is in good spirits; I feel pretty good tonight; just sitting back and enjoying an evening so wonderful...

How do you make nuts and bolts ? I love holiday recipes. I make muddy mix with chex mix. Easy to make and everyone loves it.

We use corn & wheat chex, kix, cherios, peanuts, cashews, & pretzels. Put a cup of each in a bag with a couple of tablespoons of melted butter and shake them together. Spread the mix out on a baking sheet, and bake at 250 deg for 20 minutes or so, until the butter cooks off, and everything is crunchy.

Nuts and Bolts is basically Chex Mix - although I use Crispix, as Chex are hard to come by in Canada. We didn't have them here for over 2 decades.

I never make them the same way twice. That's the fun.

In my oven roaster, I add some Shreddies, Cheerios, Crispix, Pretzels, Peanuts, Cheese Bits / Nips and stir them up. I sprinkle garlic powder / salt on them.

Then I melt half a cup of margarine mixed with Worcestshire sauce in the microwave. You want that mix to be brown. You can also add the garlic here instead of putting it on top of the dry ingredients, if you like.

Pour it over the dry ingredients, cover and bake at about 300 for 10 minutes or so. Then uncover and bake another 10 minutes or so. Seal them in a jar and you'll find the older they get, the nicer they get. Every batch will be a bit different.

There are variations (I usually use both types of Cheese Bits / Nips) and you can use generic versions of Cheerios, Shreddies, etc. Sometimes I add a pinch of Onion salt in the liquid ingredients. I make a batch without the peanuts for a few friends with allergies. I find it also takes a bit of time and effort to get the taste you want.

Thank you all those recipes sound simple and yum ! Has anyone else tried the butterscotch haystacks ?

Being Canadian, don't know what Butterscotch Haystacks are.

Some things I like still and since becoming diabetic (type 2) some things I have lost my taste for. Caramel, for example - in most things, I now find it too sicky-sweet. Still love chocolate (and especially white chocolate)

NRSE, unless you were telling a joke, with your sexy face & bod, I find it hard to comprehend anyone laughing at you.

Good morning everyone ! An hour or so of mowing for me. Then shopping for a special occasion. May check out our peaches which are coming in. I think I'm going to bake a cobbler for a friend.

Good morning
No mowing down here today, it's raining pretty hard. I plan on stopping, next time through Gaffney, and getting some peaches.
Save some of that cobbler for me. I'll bring the ice cream!
