I miss the fitness threads and the fitness Doms!

I need someone to kick me in the ass. I have maintained for December and so far into January. Maintaining is good because I don't have to re-lose weight I have already lost BUT I need to move on dammit! Still about 4 pounds away from my first big goal of 40 and the. 30-40 after that. Need to get over that hump and on to the next one!

I was bad today and ate a LOT of cheesecake sopapilla at my friend's house. But I still had a net calorie deficit, so it's OK right? RIGHT?!?! >_>

Yes, it is ok. Just don't do it every day :)

OH good! It shouldn't happen every day unless she keeps trying to feed it to me. In which case I'll start to wonder if she's a cannibal and will probably avoid her, neutralizing the problem :p

I have been quite good, at least thus far...I've been ignoring my cravings for pieces of greasy unhealthy nonsense. Mostly be consuming their weight in carrots and tea. It doesn't shut the cravings up, but it gives me something to put in my mouth besides chicken sandwiches and burgers and french fries.

Why is exercise so hard to get back into if you stop for a long while or even those little whiles?

because exercise can be unpleasant and not everyone enjoys it. And humans are by nature lazy and unmotivated about things they don't enjoy.

I had the splendid idea to hand-walk my horse down the dirt road and back for my own exercise and to loosen up her old joints that have been plaguing her. This was splendid on those points...However I was still wearing my riding boots. which, PS, are not for 4 miles of walking. holy blisterfoot >_<

This morning I did it.

I reached goal weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I weigh less then I have weighed in over 25 years!!!

I set another goal for 10 more lbs and toning up my body. But I am absolutely ecstatic!! This morning I was even a pound and a half under goal weight.

:nana:

Congrats!!

As for me, I hit a plateau about a month ago, and I have been struggling to bust through it. I just started tracking calories, and I think it's helping with those last little tweaks to my diet. Just a bit more veggies, lean proteins v. brown rice/whole grains. Also trying to do a little exercise each day, even if it's not a super hard workout.

The only thing is that once I get in better shape I do really enjoy it. :(

HOpe your feet are better.

I was bad with my eating again today. I can have a couple bad days, right? I'll be good tomorrow.

I really need to start my running program, but it's been crazy hectic trying to get my apartment cleaned up for sublettors to come check it out. I have one coming tomorrow and my room is definitely not clean enough. But it is sanitary...just cluttered. I hope she understands xD

Yesterday was horrible. Seriously everything after work was a page out of the eating habits that had me weighing 200 pounds at 5'2"...so today I picked myself up and dusted myself off and kicked my own ass. So far today has been right on program so I just have to make it through the rest of the day and it will have been a good day. I am thinking maybe I will do something active for a bit tonight (maybe kettlebells...I actually like those). Sometimes winter sucks!

Finally got the schedule/feet issues in line and started my work outs today!! I'm a bit sore atm and pushed myself a little too hard. i haven't done deadlifts in some time and while it wasn't too much weight to use at the time, my lower back is definitely feeling it!

Well, I suppose that happens after no consistent workouts for 3 years -_- god how'd I let it get this bad...

Amazed myself by being able to flog my way through the whole hour of our boxing class after almost 2 months away from them. I was freakin sore for about three days tho.

Figuring I have to sort the training out better when I go away for work again. A few workouts here and there over several weeks is hopeless. And amazing how enticing the extra courses are at restaurants when someone else is paying. Discipline boy, discipline.

Having competed in combat sports for a number of years I've become something of an expert in weight management. While it sounds cliched, finding exercise and healthy foods you enjoy is really the most important factor for maintaining any weight loss. Fad diets etc do not work. I've not taken the time to read through much of this thread, but have you tried any group exercise classes or incorporating exercise into any day-to-day activites you enjoy?

Love the audio links btw, you have a very sexy voice :rose:

Something that helps me when I'm on someone else's dime is that I go for fancier things that I normally mightn't, but that are healthy too. Particularly, a good salmon entree or white fish like halibut.

Hopefully your hotels have gyms, but if not, you could try push-ups, crunches, lunges, and squats in your room, and if the weather's nice, run outside for some cardio.

Thanks yuna, all good suggestions. When you put it that way, I realise how much of it is straight lack of motivation and discipline... at home my gym is literally 2 minutes walk away, I can see it out my window. And, with my children now away at uni I live alone, and I work from home which means I can exercise at the time ach day that suits me.. I am realising how spoiled one becomes when you can selfishly schedule everything around oneself. Once my daily routines change, I seem to find it easy to let everything drift.

Loving that my work colleagues keep asking me if I've gotten new glasses. Nope. They're over 3 months old and you see me everyday. It's just that with my face thinner now, you're noticing something different and assuming it's my glasses. gotta love it.

That's really cool! When looking back at photos, it's often the face that really shows overall weight-loss.

Thanks. Lucky or unluckily my body was an equal opportunity kind of gal when I put it on so it's doing the same now that I'm taking it off. I've lost about the same number of inches on each of my waist, hips, thighs and arms.

Down only 0.5lbs this week. I suppose it all adds up in the end but after dropping 2+ lbs most weeks since August, this slower pace is not as encouraging. Is it possible that <gasp> I may have to start exercising more?

I missed my planned skating activity yesterday because I had to attend a function. Maybe I'll check out the public swimming times for tonight and reward myself with a nice soak in the hot tub afterwards.
