Well, Stalin did save his nation and the rest of the world from Hitler, and for all practical purposes he did it single-handedly. The Nazi Armies had been driven completely out of the Soviet Union by the time the first Yank or Brit boot set foot in Western Europe. Pretty much everything in WWII that didn't happen on the Eastern European front was a sideshow.
