My question:

was Janet paid off by the Moral Majority? Talk about an excuse to make much ado about nothing ( okay, she has more than nothing, but it was no big deal!)

I doubt that she was paid off by the so-called Moral Majority because she derived plenty of benefit in terms of publicity that she wouldn't have needed a payoff. I think everybody on AH would agree that this was much ado about very little. The poll at the start of this thread seems to agree with that.
