Keeping the spark alive

I was married for more than 20 years too, and never went more than a few weeks without sex. When we did have a slow period, it was usually because of what I started calling the 'sofa effect'. You know.. when you're in a good long relationship and are happy with each other, sex is kind of always an option. However, you probably end up on the sofa, close and cosy, but somehow watching another show instead of having sex. It still feels good and intimate, but it isn't sex.

It takes an effort to make the first move - and you have to be just a little bit creative or forward to do it in a playful way (too direct or too crude can be a turn-off). It's so much easier to just press play or even fall asleep leaning on each other.

Once I became aware of the 'sofa effect', I started countering it. Thinking of little ways to make the transition from cosy to sexy, from sitting to licking. Sometimes it could be a flirty comment, sometimes a touch or maybe even just getting up and doing the old beckoning finger move :)

Small things was all it took for me - I know that won't work for all, but give it a thought next time you're on the sofa together without having sex..
 
In response to "Your a snack" I am a happy meal. I come with kids and toys :p

Since I haven't posted in a while, I will do a quick throw back what happen this summer. So I don't have to keep answer the same questions over and over again.

Hubby left for Vegas, Thailand, Viet need mid-June. Came back couple weeks ago. The kids was gone almost all summers Camp, Summer School, USA swim/training/meets, trips with friends to East Coast and Bahamas.

I stay back to watch the business, but also did some traveling around locally and did went to Vegas last month. Now the kids are back in School and I can finally pass the business back to Hubby. I can go have fun. Got invited to Vegas again for Labor day weekend. Still not sure should I go. Last month it was over 110 everyday. Traffic was hell with the constructions, the weather was hot as hell., the lines was long as hell. Come to think of it, was I in hell :p

Excellent picture. No advice on whether or not to go to Vegas - there are huge pluses and minuses about the place. On a bad day it's a zoo. On a good day it's an entertaining zoo. :)

Sorry haven't post in a while. I did decide to go to Vegas (still there, leaving tomorrow). This time I came by myself instead of group of friends. Took me a while to decide. Was excited, but was nervous at the same time. This time I tired him out instead of me. At least I have time to check in with hubby and check some emails :)
