Definitely relative and often depending on the state of mind. Maturity manifests differently in everyone.

I do think it largely depends on the age of the female. I'm in mid-50s so considered older by most, and naturally so are men older than me. I'd consider a female in mid-30s as younger than me and probably even into early 40ish. I'm sure women in their 20s could think of a guy in his late 30s or early 40s as older.

A female in her early 30s might think of you as older, but late 30s not so much. I would think the age difference would need to be greater than 10 years to invoke the older/younger dynamic. Some may say it needs to be even greater than that.

The age difference doesn't much matter to me, as long as you are older than me and dirty

This, rather precisely. Granted, I'm on the younger end of the 'older man' scale at this stage, but, the maturity thing matters much more than the number on a driver's license.

Joining up for the older man thing Mind you I could be a younger man as well - does that mean I swing both ways!

Largest age gap I have experienced is in excess of 30yrs - and it was v enjoyable too.

But to me age is inconsequential 30yrs, 3yrs, 3 month whatever the difference - get it right and it is most enjoyable.
