Ladies, help: What do I(domme) wear to my first play party?

I'm of the mind that parties such as this with a dress code say much more about the psychological needs of the hosts than anything else.

In your case, I'd be quite tempted to wear a shockingly bright pink or yellow suit with a black rose in the breast pocket or pinned to the lapel. Carry a whip if you wish, but I suspect that your independence will speak more loudly than any other element of costume.

Who wants to go to a costume party where the costumes are dictated by the host?

I vote for this.

*** RANT WARNING ***

I don't get why the host should not set the rules...?

If you would get an invitation to an event that asks for a formal dress, would you then talk about the psychological problems of the host, too? Sorry, I don't get it.

I'm visiting regularly the Night of the Masks and I think it's well-deserved that anyone gets kicked out who doesn't follow the hosts rules. And I consider the recommendations to violate the hosts wishes on purpose as rather rude. The "don't dress properly to prove that you are a Dom" attitude shown here is hypocritical.

The correct advice was the "don't like it, don't go there" part here though. Then you don't annoy the other guests at least.

It was the "dress Dommy" part I objected to. That may be a part of the dress code, but the way it was worded, it sounded more like an aside than a "rule."
