Let's Rock

Dance With The Dead are my current sonic drug. I love the mix of '80s synths and kick-ass guitars. Dani always complains that their instrumental songs lack a certain something, but with their new EP they remedied that. Dance With The Dead + guest vocalists = sublime.

Like this:

Fastway did the amazing soundtrack to the 80's cult classic Trick or Treat and...not much else, but this album rocked

Alanis Morisette knocked it out of the park with her debut of You Oughta Know. It inspired a generation of alt female rockers.

It also made a lot of young people aware of what it means to “go down” on someone. 🙀

I defy you to find a more rockin’ Tom Waits song than Down Down Down.

Ripping the B3.

ok, first off, I LOVE Joan Jett. got to finally see her live a few years ago, one of a few "bucket list" kinda shows I've made it to in the last ten years. I'd put seeing the Alarm in Pittsburgh a few years back right there with it.

Fastway had one claim to Fame, the Trick or Treat soundtrack (movie featured Gene Simmons)

disagree a little bit... How many other glam metal front men managed to start a second band in another genre that was arguably as successful as the first??? Of course, it took me years to figure out the singer for Flogging Molly was the front man from Fastway. I'd still say that, at least in my circles, Say What You Will got more play than Trick or Treat.

the song from Scott Pilgrim is actually by a Toronto band named Metric. Brie Larson did record a vocal track for the movie, but their actual singer is also an attractive blonde. Saw them in Pittsburgh a little while back. Black Sheep is just the tip of the spear, they've got a lot of great music.

Adam was my boy, back in the day!

Kenny Rogers was known for his Country songs. But back at the beginning he did this:

Comshaw

An Aussie Thrash band I discovered at the end of 2024. Great album, shame they never broke through in the mainstream. They had everything for a solid metal band.

Cold Chisel were (are) a revered Aussie rock band and massive in the 80s. They never made it big overseas but they can still pull huge grounds here, and for good reason.
