Let's Rock

About time I left something here and y'all are gonna hate me for it.

Here's Amaranthe, a Swedish band with weapons-grade earworm material and hands down one of the best singers in the biz, metal or not. Eliza Ryd helped out for Nightwish when Tarja left (and she auditioned when the job was up for grabs) and even though I don't jive with ALL of their songs, there are some numbers I find absolutely irresistible, like the one below.

Also, she had a guest spot on a Kamelot song "Sacrimony - Angel Of Afterlife". And although I normally don't simp for musicians, I'm swooning every time Eliza enters the stage in that most sinful of outfits. *sigh*

As an Aussie I'd like to nominate a few of our greatest rock songs for consideration in this excellent thread.

First up - AC/DC at their smashing best. The concert at River Plate stadium in 2009 was simply arousing. I saw them live the year after back here in AUS and they were still epic live.
HELP - can you experts tell me what I am doing wrong with the embedding link?

This is the only thread I wanna I add to. This song and the next mean a lot to me.

This song from that album - well, I don't want to reveal too much about myself. June, 1978 release, well timed by coincidence.

"You're born into this life paying for the sins of somebody else's past."
One of my favourite albums ever. It helped me channel a lot of frustration throughout my teen years.

lovecraft's mention of Tom Waits made me realize that these two songs, although stylistically very different, have the same plot. The narrators could be characters in a modern version of The Day of the Locust. Both of them seem more interested in fame, being celebrities, than in the actual work of acting.

The guy narrating this, on his way to Hollywood, doesn't realize that he's going to be disappointed in the first week there, if not the first day. A nice detail: an Oldsmobile is completely the wrong car to be seen in.

"They got some money out there, they're giving it away.
I'm gonna do what I want and I'm gonna get paid."

The woman in this song has been there longer, and maybe even got a few small roles. But she compares losing her dreams (rather melodramatically) to the the destruction caused by an earthquake.

"Go west,
Paradise is there.
You'll have all that you can eat
Of milk and honey over there."

Okay, one last one from me. May you well grin and laugh Keef. Back then rock Gods walked the earth...

I suppose the most interesting thing about this is the composite video editing work. Are they saying that they are larger than life? Charlie Watts always looked bemused my the antics of his band mates. "Hey, as long as they pay me."

A 1990s New York that doesn't quite exist anymore. I like how he just misses hitting the Grand Central viaduct. You broke it, you bought it.

From one of the defining moments of rock: Woodstock 1969

Carlos was stoned on acid while playing. The band was supposed to go on a few hours later so they decided to get stoned during the wait. 15 minutes after they dropped the hit they were told another band didn't show up and they had to play. A little trivia for you: Carlos started playing guitar at the age of 9 in a Mexican brothel.
