LGBTQIA+ Daily Vibe II

I wish I could appear so measured in real life, but we have to speak on an impulse, which is not my strong suit. Generally I can type, think, re-type, rethink before committing myself online, but even then I fuck up - blind to interpretations I hadn't anticipated...
I know this so well!

Greetings,

How is everyone doing?

My year has started officially in a stride: work and personal commitments subjected to significant shifts. So far, so good — stepping into new projects and professional roles feels good for the ego, knowing that there is a measure of recognition at play there.
Personally, the unlearning of many things and the shedding of weights (sustainably as possible) is reaching a consolidation level, which is reassuring.

Other than this, some light has found its way back to me and I am grateful for the warmth I am being gifted.

Wearing: starry blue pajama pants, white oversized plain sweater.
Listening to: Steelfeather — Come hell or high water
Mood: content

@stickygirl , over in my other thread in 'news & issues' you commented, "I went to rewatch Arrival for the xth time but I had to stop. The pigheaded stupidity of the military characters was too close to home and distracting. That's annoyed me - I really love that film."

I hadn't heard of this film so tonight I tuned it up and totally loved it! 💥
I'll be absolutely watching this again and of course trying to like understand some of it better.
I love sci-fi as a genre and this was one of the better films I've seen concerning first contact stuff.

At the very end tho.....Ian asks Louise, "you wanna make a baby?"
I melted! It was like my brain an body was so wanting that experience as I heard those words.....
It's so difficult to describe the reaction I felt at that moment 🥴

Today was a glorious day! I got to ski before work, and than see this film!

wearing: fleecy jams
Mood: warm, almost glowing
Listening to : not much, a little breeze knocking about

Spoiler alerts for anyone who hasn't seen it yet...
Arrival - gah, that film! SO good to see a 'sci-fi' based around a woman. I still puzzle over her decision to have a baby knowing the outcome, but then I stop to think 'At what point do we consider a life fulfilled and valuable - and why?' My feeling is that our capitalist society is obsessed with what someone can earn, contribute, be useful to the Big Machine of money. Of course a baby, a child and teenager has worth, not just to her parents but to herself. The Big Machine sees them as a financial drain, an investment that demands a profitable return when they are adults and in debt.

Every mother takes a risk in having a baby - she can't guarantee their future, but their life is valuable from their first breath. So yea, that's a pretty powerful moment ( even if I wouldn't have chosen Jeremy Renner ) but Amy Adams  She is filmed to be vulnerable, intelligent, tender, strong - you know, just like a woman  The final ingredient to its success is its director, Denis Villeneuve, who is a genius.

The film and the short story from which it is spun has been an inspiration for an unfinished story of mine, that centres around successive generations of mother and daughter. One day... I'm so glad you enjoyed it, but not surprised. It's certainly worth extra views and the back stories don't disappoint. I just wish the Colonel wasn't such an asshole!!

wearing: jeans & fleeces ( working from home today )

Listening to: distant traffic on the main road shush, shush, dro-o-o-O-ne and planes leaving Heathrow

It all makes me curious...what group will be the next punching bags? Seems to me transgender folk are easy targets, as a subset of the LGBTQIA+ and not always finding support within the so-called rainbow coalition.
Also trans really don't have any (or very little) legislative backing. Those in power can and do ascribe any weird take on us, and effectively no one around to dispute the lies.

Haven't checked your link yet, but I will...***** is kinda a jumble right now, so I'm off to put my wrench (or spanner if you prefer) to it 🌹

listening to: Found Space, Nostalgia
wearing: winter stuff
mood: generally awesome, with a dose of giddy
what do I know, everyone has jokes against them. we used to laugh at them. I can watch Chappelle or other comedians that make jokes against white and laugh or just say whatever. They are just jokes. I remember as a kid there was a lot of polish jokes going around. I would just tell the same joke but at that person s expense. and now they are butt hurt. If you cant take it dont dish it out.

ever watch Alien series of movies, The Hunger Games, Arrival, Alita, Furiosa in Mad Max movies, Star Wars, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Guardians of the Galaxy, and many many more. Most are good movies, esp Alien series.

you win, no more jokes about anyone, except people you dont like. you win!!!! I give up. And yes, in USA past Polish were considered inferior by German and English Immigrants. Irish too. They had it rough for awhile. Denied lots of things. The low countries. KKK burned crosses in Catholic Priests parishes. They hated that church and prob still do.

Tom Petty once sang everyone had to fight to be free

Sneaking this one from work...
1st voice: "He said.."
2nd voice: "No, she. She said."
1st voice: "Well, on your birth certificate it says - "
2nd voice: "I know, and it also says 7lb 8oz. A lot has changed since then."

I absolutely love this! 😅👍

It’s been a long and very busy couple of months with work. I feel like I’ve been doing the cis grind but when I think about it, work clothes are work clothes. A lot of my Carhartts are made for women so they give me that tomboy feeling, but they still typically code as mens. If it weren’t for my earrings and braids I probably would have felt erased to some degree. Oh well. I’m fluid. Time to start flowing the other way again.

Just resting up. Hoodie, leggings, and long cozy socks.

Rest up. You've earned it.

Hi!
Hope life is going pretty well for all around here. I've been kinda absent for a while, just want to stop by and see if anythings up!
Winter is still doing its winter thing, and my life is pretty good but quiet. It hasn't been a great ski year around here so far but longer days will be here soon and see how it is then I guess.
Last Saturday was live music at one of the bar venues locally. It was fun, I did an alcohol free night so felt awesome the next day! Although an older acquaintance I haven't seen in a while was randomly bear hugging me, and kept messing my name up.....
still fun tho!
here's a pic of a cute little ceramic thing I got this year at a get together, just the thing for me to wrap up and pass on! :ROFLMAO:

Hey I got to see Zrosey's picture of the ceramic thing when it was embedded in her post. I appreciate that she was already thinking about using that sculpture as a gift.

Wearing: nada
Listening to: a slow drip of water
Vibe: tired in a good way, after a long day of work.

If it stays around for awhile, it may just take up extended residency as my bedside goddess 🗡️
