Literotica Flagrantly Violates Author's Copyright

While I will not say a word about the rightness or wrongness about formatting of your story, I will say that there was no copyright violation.

By submitting the story, you granted Literotica the right to post the story until such time as you rescinded that right, via the proper avenues as delineated in the FAQs. The FAQs also state that ALL special formatting will be stripped from the manuscript before the story is published, aside from italics or bolds, if those are so noted in the notes.

Any perusal of the archives will distinctly show several things:

1. The font is Verdana and it is all the same size. Always.
2. The font is black. Always.
3. The background behind the text is white. Always.
4. The paragraphs are single spaced, left-margin justified, with no indentions.
5. Pagination always occurs after the same number of lines.
6. Publishing errors occur.

The fact that you were unaware of publisher's guidelines does not put the onus on Literotica for copyright infringement. It puts the onus on you to be more careful in the future to discover a publisher's manuscript guidelines prior to submission. And yes, Literotica is a publisher. Stories are not simply "posted" at Lit, they are published.

The fact that it was posted in the publisher's usual formatting is not copyright violation. It's simply common sense. If you have followed standard procedure to remove your work, as outlined in the FAQ, your work will be removed in approximately the same amount of time that everyone else who requests their work removed. Removal of work takes longer than posting does because there is more to it than clicking a few buttons.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you and I wish you well with other publication ventures.
