Medical examiner: No 'traumatic asphyxiation or strangulation' in George Floyd death

I've been in martial arts for over 30 years
and a fan of MMA for nearly 20 years and
I have never seen a effective chokehold
technique taught like the position the
officer was assuming in the pictures.
I wondered all along if it was
a strangulation.

And no, this is not an effort to excuse the cop or blame the victim;
it's not a value judgement or an assessment of any fact
other than this singular act/instance.

I note the family is seeking a coroner more likely to give them what they want to hear.

Didn't the Brown family try that? The toxicology report should be interesting as well. Not presuming anything WRT that report, even the lack of any intoxicants/drugs will make it interesting.

The official police report is interesting and as both of the initial arresting officers had operational body cams any discrepancies between the report and what the cameras captured will be glaring.

According to the report Floyd complained of not being able to breath BEFORE the officer(s) engaged in any action that would have provoked such a complaint.

I've seen the same knee holding technique used before, usually on prone subjects who are resisting arrest while handcuffs or leg irons being applied, albeit not for six god damn minutes. As I said yesterday, the fight is over when the cuffs are on.

Well, the expectation is that it is for the cop,
but having seen a lot of COPS, for the angry
and drug addled, the fight is certainly not over...

Again, speaking generically and not to the specific incident.
I'm awaiting facts and reports from responsible people at the scene.

I don't think they can get a conviction based on what I'm reading. The first thing the defense is going to do is apply for a change of venue and given the press coverage I don't see how that can be denied.

I do.
Judicial activism.

Of course if resistance continues a cop is going to use "whatever force is necessary" to effect a lawful arrest. Notwithstanding the technicalities of the law and the autopsy reports these officer's fate have already been decided. They all contributed to Floyd's death, who appeared to not be resisting. I'd like to see what happened to cause them to put him on the ground in the first place. However, rioters need to go to prison as well.

I'm not trying anyone by video.

As I just opined, I don't blame the rioters as much as the politicians fucking "whistling Dixie..."

You guys are seriously sitting in your basements hypothesising about the minutiae of an actual human being's death. Do you know how gross that is?

WTF has NZ got to do with anything I said? You don't think an American person wouldn't find this disturbing?

You're 'enjoying' a conversation about someone dying slowly and painfully? Ok ... have fun with that.

Potential intoxicants? What kind of autopsy doesn’t find intoxicants if they’re there?

Autopsy is usually completed within a day or two after a death, the final results of the toxicology report may take four to six weeks or longer.
