That's an interesting point. I'm much more inclined to make noises when my wife is taking charge (e.g. when she's on top of me in cowgirl mode) than when I'm running the show. Well, my point was; I use all senses while making love (naturally I also look to feel from her her tactile "talking". Just realized I was very egocentric in my previous post).

I would quibble that breathing is "loud". True, while the mouth is constricted or terse, heavy breathing would be more audible than if the mouth were relaxed (e.g. "panting"). However, when a breath becomes more audible, then it is usually in the form of a groan which is contrary to what I was thinking of.

I don't think you could call me loud but I find it impossible not to moan, whimper, grunt and breathe hard and strong. In the light of this thread, I tried a little experiment with my wife as we played (on our own for once -- woohoo!). As I mentioned earlier, she's a bit inhibited about being noisy, as I am. I worked on her, but with the strict proviso that I'd hold back on my efforts if I sensed that she was trying to hold in her sounds.

The experiment was rather successful! Instead of clamping her mouth shut as normal, my wife allowed her jaw to relax so that noises could escape. They weren't loud sounds, but soft and subtle ones that were a delight to hear at last. I made sure that she was suitably rewarded.

Hmm... that doesn't really work for me! I do a lot of running so my breathing tends to stay steady and it settles down quite quickly after finishing. I'd have to over-breathe in order to produce the sort of almost-panting that I think you're talking about.
