even chainmail is the only way to go, the ability to do magic in it is amazing.

I started out as a half elf warrior (don't ask!) and then tried my hand at both a ranger and a Druid...but despite being able to track, I always seem to get lost. It became apparent that I needed to play someone a little more... stationary.

High elf cleric ... Barbarian shaman... Blood elf priestess... Etc, etc.

I like elves as you could probably guess. Half elves are fine too, and shape changers are good for the woodland type classes. But they make better warrior types like barbarians or rangers or hunters, etc. For the magically inclined like Druids or witches, elves or half elves work better. Just my opinion. Of course I'm speaking in terms of pencil and paper games that I used to play.

I use to write background stories for my characters anyhow, stories that were as detailed as the adventures themselves. Moving to this hobby is just a natural extension.

Oh, sorry to hear that. We're finally past most of our recent snow. I was finally able to get out of my road last night for the first time in days.
