Morning pee

Can't belive people are having a discussion as to whether drinking urine is a good idea.

It's a bad idea. No way around it.

Hi Sweet Dommes, note to Dolf

Your nursing knowledge or credentials were not questioned. But I don't think amounts of urine to be safely drunk is exactly a standard topic in training in nursing or chemistry.

I indicated I had no figures to enable me to state a truth.

If I had those numbers, I could present 'truth', not just opinion.

Your specific statement may be true but you presented nothing to back it up.

SD: In small amounts (one time a day, 2 or 3 days a week, for example) it would not be a big deal, however much more than that could - and probably would - put an excessive strain on one's kidneys, especially if it is long term.

The level that is 'not a big deal' (=probably safe) could be half what you say, or five times, could it not? You've given no evidence to support it.

----
Dolf, I think you make a couple valid points. First it's best in many cases to err on the side of caution, but the exact numbers representing caution are murky. Jenny, above, implies 0.

Your point about salt is well taken. Human's can't drink much of salt water, even in low concentrations like the ocean. My opinion is that a master/mistress using someone as a toilet would be caring if they went very easy on the salt in the diet. (I don't have figures for safe concentrations, nor for how much salt the provider would have to ingest to exceed those concentrations in his/her urine.)

My guess is based on what I know of kidney function, and the estimated amounts of salt/sodium, nitrogen, etc. that are safe to ingest in a normal diet (not consisting of urine) combined with the known values of what urine should contain. I'm sorry that I didn't feel the need to spell all of that out before now, but I figured that my statements reguarding knowing what is in urine and in what proportions it is in there would lead most people to the conclusion (and others that I have chatted with on the topic now, after it being brought up here, have come to this conclusion) that I have based it upon the knowledge stated above.

Ok..here are some interesting facts of info from personal knowledge of a piss drinker.

One of the maids I was training drank the first morning piss...every single day..and had been doing so for over one and a half years when I met him. He is in his early 50's and has the soft translucent skin of a baby. Soft shiny healthy hair and incredible energy. Others that knew him pre piss consumption say they have seen a huge change in his vitality and beauty. He has gotten the info about piss drinking (morning piss mind you) from the internet and books by a certain doctor...I wasn't interested enough to look into it even though he highly recommends I try to the diet! Ya right!

Anyways...I have no idea of the long term effect other than one...this man's breath smells like piss..his body reeks of piss smell when he sweats. It is impossible to be comfortable around him for long simply from the odor that never leaves him. That is enough of a reason to NOT partake on a regular basis in My most humble opinion.

oh yuck... I'll pee on command, I'll pee in front of someone. But I will not drink anyone's waste... Thanks anyway.

And I'm only here because KC and Shadows are. I love you both!

Oh, and I forgot to add that the smell of urine on the breath/in the sweat of the guy that SD mentioned is a sign of advanced kidney failure - caused because the person has too high of a level of the toxic chemicals in their system.

Another thing ... I am an avid reader, and I tend to read a lot of sci-fi/fantasy type books, and in one of them, I ran across a little factoid that I had forgotten about until this thread brought it to mind - then, of course, I had to go back and find it, and then research it to see if it was actually accurate, and low and behold, it is. If you feed an animal - any animal, but was most common among shady horsetraders trying to sell old, decrepit horses - small amounts of arsenic, they will grow to be very healthy looking - they will eat large quantities, put on healthy amounts of weight, and have thick glossy hair/fur - overall, giving quite the perfect picture of health ... however, eventually, the doses have to be increased and increased to maintain the appearance, and eventually, the doses increase to the point that the body just can't handle it, tolerance or not ... but if the poison is removed, the victim will lose all appetite, lose weight, and die as poison that has been stored in their fat is put back into circulation in their body all at once. The process of getting to lethal doses is a slow one, and can take years ... but it will eventually happen, and to my mind, SD's example seems to be rather similar to the story that I read and researched - with the exception of the stench.

Jeez, there might be some ingredient in a healthy person's urine that acts like arsenic. Or one that'll make you sterile; or rot your brain. Ya just never know.

Here's a bit of informational material that was published this week, a dr's opinion of dangers for certain people, esp. men.

Savage Love column,
{Sex and health Q and A, in many newspapers and magazine}

Q: You've been running a lot of piss-related questions lately, and I need some advice. I'm in a long-term relationship; we've been together for almost nine years. I'm extremely kinky and he's not, and we have some difficulties meeting each other's needs. One thing we both used to get a lot of pleasure from was when he'd drink my piss. It was something fun we could share regularly, he loved it, and I really enjoyed the kinky aspect. Coming home after a long commute and unloading an aching bladder down his throat was definitely a win/win for both of us, something we'd been doing for years.

Then my partner developed gout. Gout is an arthritis-like disease where uric acid forms crystals in the cartilage of your joints, which get painfully inflamed and swollen. Sometimes it will even flare up all by itself or after drinking alcohol. He's been hobbled by it for weeks at a time, needing crutches just to get around. And he's only 29!

Ever since he was diagnosed, we've been terrified to make a bad situation worse and have stopped the piss-drinking entirely. Urine contains a lot of uric acid (of course), and I worry that it's partly my fault that he developed gout! Since you've been extolling the safety of piss-drinking and potentially tempting your readers to try it for themselves, is there any chance that it could cause or exacerbate gout? I've looked online for medical information, but I've never seen anything about this at all.

We are both totally bummed that one of the few kinks we could share and enjoy has been taken away from us. Is there anything we can do? Is even a little additional uric acid in his diet going to make his gout worse? Please ask your doctor friend before anyone else winds up with this chronic disease!

- Must Our Urine Sharing End?
======

[A: by DS ]I'm afraid the urine-sharing must end.

But before we get to my doctor friend's advice, MOUSE, I have a bone to pick with you: I have not been "extolling the safety of piss-drinking." I have not gone out of my way to promote the practice or to popularize it. My recent controversial mention merely pointed out that compared to eating shit, getting into piss – splashing it over your skin or sipping from the source – is very nearly harmless. I certainly didn't encourage people to drink large quantities of piss or to take up the practice. Like all other sexual practices, drinking piss carries some degree of risk – and one of the risks, as it turns out, may very well be gout.

"No one really knows what causes gout," says my doctor friend, Barak Gaster of the University of Washington's department of medicine. "The higher uric acid levels are in the blood, the higher the chance that someone will have gout, but we don't really understand why one person with a slightly high uric acid level gets gout but another with the same slightly elevated uric acid level does not." Doctors believe that there must be some genetic factor, because gout is much more common in men than women, MOUSE, so you may not be entirely to blame. It's possible that your boyfriend would have developed gout even if he weren't drinking your stanky piss.

Still, all that piss couldn't have helped. "People who have had a gout attack can reduce their chances of future attacks by lowering their uric acid levels," says Gaster, "by taking medications and avoiding triggers." Such as? "Common triggers are alcohol and dehydration or eating large quantities of meat such as liver." And? "Drinking large amounts of urine also could bring on an attack. Since urine is made up of stuff the body wants to get rid of, drinking very large quantities could be bad for you and should definitely be avoided in people who have gout."

Sweet Dommes,

For the record, and to 'mend fences,' I acknowledge that, at least for certain people, certain amounts of pee, may be dangerous.

Your cautions were appropriate.

I'm sorry that my tone was so harsh, in this thread.

That is no reason to be sorry Pure,
You just said it like you felt it should be said,
That is good.
