Mt story rejected three times and I can't get a reason off anyone

OK, so I still haven't heard anything re my story, or had a reply from Laurel but I just noticed the blue "pending" next to my story in my list has turned a non-clickable grey? WTF is that?

Is there a date showing anywhere near the grey "pending"? If so, that means your story has been approved for posting and will post on the date shown.

You won't always see that, but sometimes I've seen it on stuff I've submitted in the past.

Hi Michchick,

actually there is, and it is tomorrow! But that is the first time I have seen that, and I notice that my reader number has gone up to 12--is that a record before acceptance? Lol. If it goes up I might celebrate with a new poem (if I think it is ready, of course!). I'll get back to you, and thank you again for your sympathy. I'm proud of the story, which is why I have perversely pursued it. I hope you all feel it was worth it when (if) it does get posted, but I will accept the flak as well.

Steve

Well, it looks like the PM to Laurel worked, then. She may not always respond personally, but obviously she got your message and approved your story. :)

Post the link here when your story shows up. :) Yeah, some of us are lazy and either will forget or won't check the New Stories page. ;)

My story "Statues in the Snow" has now been rejected three times, and I have sent 2 emails to Literotica with no response. I am at a complete loss as to why this story has been rejected. Worried about formatting issues (there are lines in French and dialogue within dialogue), I have resubmitted each time in a different format. The latest rejection just asks if I have checked the spelling--well, duh, yes, several times actually.

My female narrator also says quite specifically that she was 18 when the events she describes took place, so that should resolve that reason too.

Can anybody tell me how I can get a straight answer?

Thanks
hi can i preview the story

Ah, talking about me again, eh? ;) :rose:

Ladies, after all the help and support you two have given me over the last few days, I certainly wouldn't describe you as lazy. Roses to you both (I might be able to actually send them one day).

Oh, we're far from lazy, I'd say. But it's easier for us to click a link within a posted message than to have to hunt for your user name and find your stories that way. So, I guess were cyber-lazy. ;)

And thanks for the recognition, even though I didn't do much. Glad I was able to help you (somewhat) keep your sanity.

That does raise an interesting point--isn't it virtually impossible to find an author on Lit at the moment? I have spent what feels like hours clicking through the alphabet trying to find an authors name--there are just too many sexygirl's out there, lol. Seriously, a quick-find system would be great.

Try this link:

Much easier than going through the member list.

Have a good night.

I had a story pending/in preview for four or five years, a few hundred views on it. I've always wondered who gets to read your story when it's pending or not yet submitted. It was a full story too, I just thought it was shitty and moved on.

I do so agree. Absolutely nothing is going on.

I've stepped in daily for about the last week, and I'm confident you're delirious or delusional. There is no-thing going on in the Editor's Forum beyond a couple posts, as always a couple posts every few days unless there's an argument. Don't take it to heart, it's just a matter of observation; of the hundreds of thousands of members, two or three post in the Editor's Forum a couple times a week.

It wasn't shitty - it was just not submitted! :D From the faq:

Is the story status listed as "Pending" or "Not Ever Approved"? If the submit button hasn't been pressed completely, the story won't be submitted and the story's status will be listed as something other than "Pending" or "Not Ever Approved". If the words "Rejected" appear beside your work, there may be formatting or other errors that need fixing before approval. Click those words to see the reasons the work was sent back to you. You can make changes on that page and hit the "Submit" button. You don't need to fill in a new submission form.
