my friends great story was taken down

I plan on going the route of being no more specific than "high school student" and the obligatory "all characters are 18" disclaimer. No mention of age or class. It's not really germane to the story anyway, it's just part of the background setting, or really part of the genre I'm spoofing.

Age of consent

Here in Scotland it is 16.

However the Lit rules are the lit rules and that is what we all sign up to.

It's good to understand where those rules might come from. Some people claim things like photos, drawings etc of underage stuff doesn't involve actual victims. But many jurisdictions take the view that it creates and promotes a market.

So, take a zero tolerance approach in your writing and you won't go wrong.

Not enough to say, "all characters etc are over 18". Spirit and letter, etc.

Seems to me that age of consent for sexual activity isn't the issue. A sixteen-year old may be able to consent to sex in any particular state, but no one can put that same sixteen-year-old in a nude photo spread or a pornographic film.

From 18 U.S.C. § 2251:

Additionally, the age of consent for sexual activity in a given state is irrelevant; any depiction of a minor under 18 years of age engaging in sexually explicit conduct is illegal.

Note the word "depiction," unmodified by adjectives like "visual."

On another note: WTF? Is that dipshit science teacher from TN who kidnapped his little Lolita on here? Write stories about adults for people with healthy adult appetites.

So, two 17 year olds can get married, screw and have kids, but they can't post any of the graphic details on Fakebook or any nudie pics shots of each other.

And not be written about on Literotica.

I get that it would be disappointing and disheartening to have all your stories taken down, but to stop writing over it - c'mon! The point is that there is to be no mention of sex involving minors, even if it occurred in the past of your story. It's an easy editing fix (though it may impact each story because at least the ages will have to be updated), so, I would say, just suck it up - edit it, and resubmit.
