here three quite unrelated ones... the one in the middle, my cat nelly (rip, she died shortly after christmas ) turned out quite blurry as it was very dark, but i somehow like the effect...

I like the candle the best. And I like how Nelly came out but not the background...

I liked the pics, thought the candle one was technically fantastic, but preferred the cat one I think.

I find it amazing how some things, like food (as in your shot of tagliatelle), can take on an element of the uncanny [in the Freud sense of the word... 'unheimlich'] when you view them in closeup and out of context. Ugh

thanks... here some pictures for you... this time a more general view of the charles bridge - two very early in the morning (arrive in prague at 5 a.m. i think and walked right to the bridge from the bus station), then one about an hour later, so with a clearer view...

I love the third one with the woman walking toward the camera.

I also have a Nikon D-70. I love it.
I have three lens for mine.
The Nikkor 18-70mm... SIGMA 70-300mm APO...
And the SIGMA 12-24mm Wide Angle...

Munachi,
Excellent pictures! You are lucky to have been blessed with the seeing eye. You can take your photography a long way. You have an excellent piece of equipment and you don't really need much more. Excellent as it is, the camera is merely a tool. It's the relationship between your brain and the viewfinder that determines the most important elements of the finished photograph.
After a lifetime ( over 70 years) fairly closely associated with competotion photography through the eras of monochrome, colour and now digital still photography, I've found that the really great photos I've seen were fairly simple as far as subject matter was cconcerned, but brilliantly interpreted by the photographer. I've also wasted an awful amount of money through buying sophisticated. exotic & supposedly " must have" equipment that was rarely used after the first month. Just keep it simple.
Good luck and I hope I see many more beautiful pictures from you .

wow, i had forgotten all about this thread. it is interesting to look at my own photos again, since so much time has passed since i took them... i think i was more experimentative back then, when the camera was new, lately i mainly just take travel pictures...

though what i started now is to post process the pictures, with varying results...

so here a newer picture (from last december, when i went to edinburgh)... will try to add more with the time...

another winter shot... the top of one of the skiing pistes (or routes? or how do you say?) - was a red one, and since i was only learning to ski and actually had gotten there by taking the wrong lift, i was quite scared... but survived, and the next day took this one more often...

You have some very nice creative shots here. The leaf pictures are well seen and your good colour sense shows through. I particularly like the creativity you've shown in the Double Bass shots. The inclusion of the rocking horse was rather brilliant and paid off. You are discovering your new camera quickly. Excellent work and just keep going, following your star in things photographic.
