Neoconservatism is dead, isn't it?

The foreign-policy warhawkery that was the Washington Consensus in the W years seems to be a dead letter now.

The neocons have shut up and gone away.

Nobody wants to go to war any more. The outcome of the Iraq War, and Afghanistan, spoiled everybody's taste for it.

So why is it that that nobody wants to cut defense spending?

Why is the U.S. still spending as much on defense as the next 10 or 11 biggest-spending nations combined?

Why do we still have a global network of 800+ military bases?

Why is America still a military empire?
Rick Wilson and his quislings at the Lincoln Project will be months in surgical rehabilitation after having removed Trumps foot which he slammed to the ankle up their collective assholes.

What's that got to do with this?

That's not neoconservatism. There is no military aggression in supporting Ukraine's self-defense -- especially when support is limited to weapons, without sending in NATO troops.
BS. The Lincoln Project is a group of neoconservative outliers. They do support the war in Ukraine. Ukraine has lost the war.

The U.S. could not intervene because the U.S. cannot risk any direct confrontation with Chinese forces. That could go nuclear.

That's my point. They shouldn't be there -- we can't ever use them.
Sure, sure...We will if we need to and China and Russia would both suffer as much as we would in a nuclear confrontation. Nukes will not come from super powers, they will come from lunatic regimes like Iran.

Nope, they're just migrating to the Democrats.

Nobody wants to go to war any more. The outcome of the Iraq War, and Afghanistan, spoiled everybody's taste for it.

Except the Democrats who are literally the Cheney level warhawk party now.

Because weapons are cool and they never become useless. There is always another wolf that comes knocking eventually. That's why the right to arm and defend oneself is still as relevant today as it ever was.

Neocons have found a new home in the Communist/Socialist party formerly known as democrats.
The Dems are not even social democrats now -- if they were, an innocuous half-assed more-or-leftist like Sanders could have gotten the nomination.

And he could've won, too -- in 2016, a lot of voters were vacillating between Sanders and Trump, seeing both as anti-establishment candidates.

Yea they're "progressive" race-communist.
