It always sucks to find a run in a new pair of hose. They're not cheap if you only get one or two wearings out of them.

Summer can be swimwear under jeans or shorts and t-shits.

Pantyhose under jeans works OK sometimes, even when shopping in public. Some women's jackets, shirts and jeans are wearable, but not all. No way to do even a sports bra though unless you can cover with a heavy sweatshirt or jacket.

I have been wearing "women's" clothing all my life except for work and school and wore lingerie under my "male" clothes then. I have never experienced the discomfort issues you are referring to. Maybe you are wearing the wrong size. Now that I am retired never dress as a man and I do everything dressed as a woman, shopping eating out, everything.
 
When the mood strikes as it does during the holiday weeks, I go business, semi-formal, formal, evening/cocktail hour, etc. That usually involves some combination of constrictive garments - bras, long line bras, corsets, bustiers, garters, girdles, control panties, petticoats and so on. Most women will say those things become uncomfortable after a couple of hours, no matter how well fitted the items are.

Most women would never wear heels higher than 3 inches, let alone anything nearing 6 inches. I've discussed it with a few on different websites and they're amazed by people who can wear 120 - 140mm heels at all, let alone for hours at a time and be able to walk in them. Some admit to wearing them, but only for sitting or laying down.

I only do less constrictive casual wear during Summer when in my own yard.

I would agree about 6 inch heels, I have never worn any higher than 4 inches and usually wear 3 inch. That said, I an in thong panties, bra, garter belt and thigh high hose and don't feel uncomfortable or restricted at all. I cold weather I often wear long legged panty girdles and find them very comfortable as well.
 
I can't think of much that compares to the feeling of legs crossing or brushing together while walking when in stockings.


I can't think of much that sucks as much as getting down to or up from the throne when in 4" heels though. Legs and knees take a beating.

I don't have much paved area and grass and spike heels don't mix well, so I don't get much outside time. But when I do, I love the feel of wind blowing up my skirt.
