Greetings, all Lit crew. I've been posting enough to "devirginize" myself and realized I should have posted here first. [slaps forehead]. Oh well, that's a newbie for ya.

I'm 43 years old, married (going on 20 yrs.) to a woman I could never live without, and have three daughters (two are hers, the youngest [mine... well, ours] is 16... teenagers, yeeesh). I have to tell you up front: I'm not one of the pros of the board (advice specialists, mods, admins, etc.), I'm just one of the many posters who like to chat and get to know people. But, as I posted, I'm always willing to hand out advice/opinions from my own experiences and wisdom that go along with twenty years of marriage and raising a family. Don't know every street in the city, but I've definitely been around the block a few times.

First off, I believe the best tool any person can use to please their partner... is the brain. Without imagination and creativity, any sex life can be easily extinguished. And one of the best ways to jump start that imagination is by using an important center of the brain: the speech center. Here's how I do it.

When intimate with my wife, I'm always asking her about her feelings. That is, how she feels when I touch her a certain way, when I kiss her in a certain spot, when I move with her in a certain position. Does it feel good? Bad? Uncomfortable? Strange? And along with communication comes the other important part of the brain: the hearing center. Listen to how she reacts to certain stimuli. Really listen, and act upon it using the "imagination and creativity" part. For instance, does she like it when you lick her in a certain spot because it tickles? If so, start exploring to find other ticklish spots, and don't just use your tongue. Fingertips, lips, even using your toes on her feet and, once that's established, maybe bring in some things to play with, and it doesn't have to come from an adult shoppe. You'd be surprised what one feather from a feather duster can do to spice things up. A feather on her feet (or thighs, backside, breasts, wherever her "favorite spot" is) while your making love at just the right moment... well, that's just one example, but you get my point, though. Remember, this works both ways. Communication is all important when it comes to sex. Trust me, if you really listen, that creativity will start churning out good ideas.

Once the communication lines are open, that definitely leads to exploring other venues. Open up to her about what you like and what you might be willing to try. This will get her to open up in return. My wife and I tried the "outdoor" fun just to make things a little more interesting. Even (almost) fully clothes, the first time was jittery, but after we finished, we realized the thrill it gave us. Now, we're always looking for new and more exciting (I.E. dangerous) places to get naked and "push the envelope", so to speak. (The first was streaking and skinny dipping in our pool in our open backyard. Close neighbors, no privacy fence. Almost got caught, once or twice.) I'd recommend someplace that's not so public your first time out, just to get use to the idea, then go from there. Again, just one example.

Don't be disappointed if she flat out refuses to do, or even try, something different. You both have many likes and dislikes, and different feelings about certains aspects of what good sex is suppose to be. Don't force her to do something she's uncomfortable with, and vice versa. Don't get disappointed if an idea you try doesn't pan out the way both of you wanted it to. Trial and error is what makes ideas into reality. Don't give up trying just because one idea didn't work.

The one aspect of wisdom is time. It's taken twenty years for us (my wife and I) to get to know each others' wants and desires (Hell, we're still learning new things about sex, and each other), so don't rush it. Finding out what makes both of you tick is sexier than just trying something blind and being disappointed at the unsatisfying outcome.

Keep those communication lines open (on both ends), keep that imagination sharp and the creativity flowing. Even after twenty years... it hasn't been boring for us. Just one married man's opinion; I hope it helps.
