Is it the same? By dint of effort, a person can become nicer (okay, maybe you can't, but most people can) but no matter how I try, I'm never going to look like one of the Hottest/Sexiest Girls. I'm too old, and I don't have the right genetic material with which to work. Sure, I have some control over my appearance. I could lose 35 pounds, and wax everything. I don't think it would make much difference, though. I've seen those girls, and I've seen me, and I'm not stupid enough to be unable to see the difference.

Of course, I could get cosmetic surgery. That might help. I should let nothing stop me in my ruthless pursuit of the title.

I say this only for argument's sake; I wasn't upset by the Sexiest Girl Poll. I am past caring for such things.
