One Thing You May Not Know...

I have only half a kneecap on my right leg. I can't sit on my knees for too long or I can't get up.

It was shattered in a bike vs car accident when I was about 9.

My hair is such a deep red, it almost looks dark brown, until I step out into the sunlight and at one time, went down to the back of my knees. I keep it shorter because it's so thick the weight of it gives me headaches, not to mention that I got fed up with catching it in the car door. Not. Fun.

lol

Mines just now past my elbows... its kinda strange to get it stuck in my armpit and the cardoor at the same time.

Past my elbows. Just. Three quarters of my back. And I have never gotten it stuck in a car door.

And I am now intensely grateful for that.

Ow.

I was raised by my mother when I was in first grade. I'm the youngest child with 2 older sisters. That could explain a few things about me.

I am terrified of heights yet I love BASE jumping.

I also (on rare occasions) have been known to go rappelling down sheer cliff faces...

I love rock climbing!

One time when I was a kid I saved up my money all year, and during the summer, I went on a camping trip, and we rock climbed for a week. :D

I have a fear of unstable heights. (Ladders and what not)

But I had to overcome that when I was training to be a fire fighter. Though I freely admit to be terrified having to climb the 85 foot ladder truck. That high in the air, you are rocking all over the place.

I am not a fan of climbing...for some odd reason going up bothers me much more than coming down. *shrugs* But you can jump nor rappel down without climbing.

I know what you mean. If I didn't have to do it to get my certification, I wouldn't have set foot in that bastard. I felt like a flag on a pole up there.

True! Repelling is fun, in a different way. Very fast and thrilling. :D

I think about rock climbing the way people must think about fighting/conquering something.

I get to the top, and think,

You're mine now bitch! :p

I can very well imagine. I used to work in a warehouse. i was one of the smallest people there on my shift. used to freak out when i had to go and push stuck pallets~as they were on tiny little beams that required me to get behind em, thirty feet in the air...and shove...

If I hadn't been making good money, I'd have quit, just so they wouldn't ask me to go push those damned things in!

I guess I am the opposite. I don't like getting too close to the edge of things like a rock cliff or the roof of a building, but trees are my friends. When I was little, I read the Tarzan books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and wanted nothing more than to be a jungle girl. I used to climb trees wayyy up there. Once I even jumped from one tree into another, dropping about 15 feet before catching a branch in the other tree. Even then I was still about 45 feet up from the ground.

Thinking back on that now, I must have been insane.

The only reason I'm okay with rock climbing is that I know I would make ALOT of money if they let something happen to me. :p

That would scare the everloving shit out of me, however. :x

I have a space-time distortion backpack.

Trees are awesome. Edges of buildings where there's no rail? No damn way. I get vertigo. I never look down. Now looking out? That I can do. I have to resist the urge to look down, even knowing what it does to me and I do okay on ferris wheels so long as my companion doesn't rock the damn thing.

It was one of the thrills of my life. Come to think of it, I probably do take too many chances in seeking thrills. The ones later in life came at a cost.

I take life-risks, not physical harm risks.

Might be better if I switched those around. -_-

I meant like, bad decision, 'I don't need an education' life risks. :p

But yes!

I joined the army, and left without a pension or career.

Went to university, and left without a degree or any accreditation.

Took up a trade, and haven't finished my ticket yet.

I know these decisions I hear you speak of. But I will get my ticket for this one. getting too old to keep screwing with things. But I've done ok for myself so far.

Lets keep at it together, then. :)
