i have a dog that will be 2 in February...a Yorkshire Terrier and at 3 lbs. is full grown. She is mine. In November my family adopted 2 black kittens. They belong to the family. The rescue worker said they were 2 brothers, but when we took them to the vet's the Doc says that it was a brother and a sister.

i used to have alot of birds as well. Over the years i have had a cockatiel, a quaker parrot, parakeets and even a pair of breeding zebra finches. That was really cool watching them raise their families :p :rose:

Here's another of The King on his throne. He's not supposed to be up there, but he's so lovable that no one tells him otherwise. (At my parents' house.)

Good lord, I think back to the zoo that I've had, and shudder.

Some of the odder animals I've kept as a pet over the years:

black tarantula - "Buckwheat"
Praying Mantis - "Shirley"
kangaroo rat - "Willie"
Desert Iguana - "Mike"
Rat - "Sniffles", "Dirt", "Maynard", "Wilson"
Gopher snake - though it wasn't exactly a pet, and I never named it - it lived in my front yard and was very docile.
Zebra finches - I had 36 of them at one point...
Ferret - "Gidget"
Dog - "Bob" , "Moe", and currently "Rufus"

my favorites are dogs and rats.
If you like hamsters or guinea pigs, I'd reccomend a rat instead. They are much more friendly and less prone to bite.

well
my mom's cat of 15 years died...
I was expecting it, last time I was home she was pretty frail and sickly - but it still sucks.

Aw, that's never easy, Shin. I'm sorry.

I have a femal Pit Bull, who oddly enough couldn't be a bigger wuss. Everything scares her. Albeit if it isn't a human she wants to kill it.

I am a big time dog person, I like all of them not just my own.

I have 7 cats, one dog, and a rabbit. I would like to get two more rats sometime. OUr rats passed away in March and May of last year. I also want a Pit Bull and an iguana. I need money for an iguana and my husband says we can't afford another dog because of dog taxes.

I also consider the swans and ducks I feed to be our pets.

This is Zeus. 2 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback.

Whenever he wants attention, he tends to pout. Also, you can see where the breed gets the name.

He's spoiled rotten. I miss him alot when I'm out here at school. He's my big baby. Hehe.
He is absolutely Gorgeous !!!!!

OK... guess I can't resist... :) Have two cats, 5 horses.. and a burro... AND 3 dogs. No apartment living ;) Ooops .. Almost forgot.. and a "Gran"puppy... :cathappy: well she really isn't mine  But can't resist putting her pic up..lol..

Here is my zoo:

10 cats
17 hermit crabs
3 leopard geckos

I also plan to add a ball python to the collection soon....

Well... I had no pets until the girlfriend moved in.

We got special permission from the landlord to have one dog (lab mix). Then without even consulting me, she brought home a snake. Some rats. Then 2 cats, and finally a second dog (boxer). Finally the girlfriend moved out and left me with a bunch of animals and a pissed off landlord.

I really don't mind though. It's a bit of an inconvenience, but I've grown to love having them all around and I get alot more exercise than I would without the dogs.

Its funny I use to think of horses as these sort of agile, flighty creatures, but see a couple up close and you realize there are a ton of muscle.

I've had a bunch of pets over the years, but for now its just Lucy.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW he's so cute!

LOL. That was funny. He is cute. He's turning into a meat head though. He's all muscle and 40 pounds, 5 months old now.

:catroar: I have two cats, I really want a dog though...but first...I get to build a new fence >_<

For Lor. Because she's spiffy.

Okay, so I hate it when someone goes away on vacation, presumably to a much warmer place, and then when they get back the weather at home (invariably) sucks.
You know why I hate this?
Because then everybody who says hello to the person who just returned from vacation feels compelled to say "What's with this weather? You were in Florida, you were supposed to bring the sunshine home with you!"
And then they laugh.
And then I want to stab them in their jugulars with a pen.

There should be a moratorium (or better yet, an expiration date) on campy jokes like that.
Like people who chortle and say "It must be free...tee hee!" when their item doesn't scan at the store check-outs.
Wait a sec...
What the hell?? This isn't the Pet Peeves thread...
FUCK!
