Thank you. I'm glad you like them. I had so much fun taking them. And even managed not to fall over the edge.
I can't even comprehend how immense it is, and I'm afraid of heights so I imagine I would have to ride a scorpion if I were to decend to the bottom.

I know what you mean. We were there for an evening, and a morning, so my best pictures were taken with the sky clearing, blue sky appearing and sunshine, so some pretty strong shadow movements.

Love the third one in the last Lima group. Anything to do with water will appeal to me. I love it, being near it. Lived by the sea all my life. The last 8 weeks have been strange, in the middle of a desert, and the only water a canal running through the city, and small lakes dotted around park areas. I miss the waves, and the sound and smell of the sea.
oh, then living in the desert must be strange indeed. I personally am quite fascinated by deserts, but not sure I would want to live in one...

Here there is neither the sea nor mountains nore anything (though we have a lot of forests and lakes once you get out of town), but I have somehow alwasys been attracted by mountains. The ocean never interested me as much. But mountains - I always want to climb up everywhere and see what the world looks like from there...

Anyway, here a picture from one of my favourite places: the Santa Catalina monastery in Arequipa... I have more pictures from there, will post them when I find the disc...

Then I'm delighted I've been able to convey some of the majesty and immensity of the place for you, through my pictures.

take a look at the site posted on my signature. It's a collection of a few of the picture I've taken. I haven't updated it in over a year though, so I have more if people are interested.

Mountains are indeed spectacular, and the view from them, but its the noise, and movement and smell of the sea that attracts me. Its never still, never the same, constantly changing.

hm, for me the thing is that the sea, while it does move all the time, seems the same all the time, in fact. it is nice for a day or two but then usually bores me a bit (unless there is a spectacular coastline, but then I suppose it is more the coastline that interests me)... In the mountains, each turn you take gives you a different view...

Here are some more pictures of the monastery, and of an old mansion in Arequipa... (the one with the angel is from the mansion, and the one after)

I almost missed these...they remind me of the move Frida for some reason, so rich in color.
I want to be there.

Thanks, you people. These are awesome. Mat can really take a good photo, and anything from SummerM is always art. I am humbled.

Mat's pics truly are stunning aren't they? I'm so glad people finally joined in on this thread :D

Some people just have the eye. Some of it is in the cropping, but the eye is there when they ply the camera. Summer M is awe inspiring, to me. I just take a photo, but that man can compose a shot. Mat is good, too, very nice work. I loved Munachi's too. Keep this up. Really.
