Lifeboat from the Titanic - April 15, 1912.

Two Titanic survivors - unidentified when the picture was taken. Their father died in the sinking and their mother didn't go on the trip - staying in France. She thought they were dead. But, a month later, she saw this picture in a newspaper and came to claim them. By the way, their names were Michel (left, age 4) and Edmond Navratil (Right, age 2).

So sad and yet lucky to be alive and the life raft nowhere near full

Buddy Holly's last performance on February 2nd, 1959 at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. He died in a plane crash the following day with Ritchie Havens and The Big Bopper. Some additional trivia - his bass guitarist for the show tour was Waylon Jennings, who gave up his seat on the fateful flight to the Big Bopper as a favor.

Led Zeppelin's John Bonham's last performance on July 7th, 1980 at Eissporthalle in Berlin, Germany. He was found dead on September 25th, 1980 in Jimmy Page's house having asphyxiated after drinking approximately 1 liter of vodka.
