poetry exercise for novice poets and everyone

laying on jewels
diamonds, pearls
coined gold
the dragon lays low
swearing his devotion
to his Mistress

wings swooped comfort
muscled bed
caress length lean
loin cloth
and dangling
in between
leather clad breasts
a chain

trailing her navel
shimmery sheen
ribbed tight
collecting eye
righteous mote
nudging the toe
of her dragon lover

Okay, here's my poem for the day about the stupid thing I'm writing about.

there's a place for your sunshine,
a spot for your ass.
the lack of torso taunts me
from the shadows.
you'll never have a pot belly,
but we can shake hands.

:confused:

is it your uncle with the extra nipple??

a holy spot
drawing me
with sleepy eyes
to work
and yet
my cats
show off
and make it seem
so easy

Liar Item

I.
1998 today. 1958 tomorrow.
2004? Well, yesterday.
My time machine will fill this room
carousel me close and far
but still strain
an elastic cord
that snaps me back
when my digits are up
this time.

II.
I flick it, pinch it, twist it,
hear her scream.
I stand back satisfied
and watch her glitter.
By just being there
she lets me know...
   My pulse your choice,
   my breath your command.
   I sing when it please you,
   and scream by your hand.

I think I might not have followed directions...

Are we allowed to guess before the poet is finished or is that cheating? I think I got Liar's figured out.

``````````````````````````````````````
Want to check one thing off my to do list this morning, so here it is, I am not sure I followed directions, my apologies...
I.
bled dry, useless
"why do you leave me here
over dust, under basket?
as a reminder
of what has been given
to feed your madness?
a record of the bleached sheets
punched or twisted
at your will? "
II.
letters and photos
sucked from your well
papers tucked here and there
hidden in secret drawers
mailed to secret locations
but still you sit
on my dusty shelf,
waiting
III.
arrows pointing
--->insert here
<-------pull this there
careful!
and please, use enclosed envelope
recycle when finished
it is the right thing to do
IV.
pure black
on top of colored sisters
cyan, magenta, yellow
remembering the days of
dot and swirl
V.
snapshot flash
digital, baby
caught you sleeping there
if you are good
I will print your picture
with new inkjet 56
come on baby
don't be sore with me
we had a good time now
while you lasted
can't bring myself to needle
you full again
opaque and shaken
to make sure I have taken
every drop
Once again,
a needle pinches holes in my rubber mask
of doesn't care or doesn't wanna,
like the pouting child,
who didn't get his cotton candy
still shines, brighter than the lights
when put on that good old carousel
and forgets everything else
Once again,
a needle speaks my language
and I am on that carousel,
spinning, swirling,
through sigh, sing, scream.
The world,
somewhere a faded grey
side-scene piece,
matters no more
as I flick, pinch, twist
and ride the time machine.
