poll: favorite movie villain?

i agree. people who are so quick to want to impose the death penalty (justifiably so) don't realize how helpful it is to have a genuine maniac available to study... it can be a wonderful resource.

Yes, like forensic science and profiling, especially the profiling. I find that amazing stuff and how accurate they can be sometimes. If I had known this was an occupation when I had to choose what direction to study I probably would have gone that way...

Either that or interior design :D

Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" ranks up there as one of my favorite villians.

Richard Gere's corrupt cop character from "Internal Affairs." The way he takes on Andy Garcia's IA officer, and totally messes with his mind.

i didn't realize i'd forgotten to answer my own damned question!

[trout-smacks self]

for me, it's a toss-up b/n darth vader and hannibal lecter.

given the number of potter-heads however, i think i'm feeling inspired to create a new poll.. :>

I remember another one. I really like Michael Keaton as the villian in....ummmm..fudge..now I can't think of the name of the movie. The one where he is the convict and Andy Garcia's son needs the transplant....[sighs]

Ohh...I forgot that one. And yes, he did. it's so interesting to see him as the villian.

Desperate Measures. And I agree, he was creepy as hell in Pacific Heights.

Thank you. I have been trying to think of that since I posted it. And why on earth I didn't just Google it is beyond me.

it's a simple question: who's your favorite movie villain? if you can't pick just one, list the contenders.

p.s.: as always, my answers later, yadda yadda yadda...

For me a few that come to mind are

The Borg Queen.
The guy who had the hollowed out volcano in the James bond flick.
Kim Il Jong in World Police.

That is all for now.

Darth Vader(of course)
Agent Smith("Mis-ter Anderson...")
Toht("Good evening,fraulein...")

The Nicholas Cage then John Travolta then deceased character in Face Off. I like variety.

Or the Sheriff of Nottingham from Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. (Can't think of his name but he was good in that other movie i can't think of either.)

Of the animated variety--Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

I think i must go lie down now.
