This could fix the problem, I've done a bit of research on it and it seems to be legit, it's registry patch so I would do a registry back up first just to be safe.

I use Opera browser, Pegasus mail, AVG anti virus, Atlantis word processor, Zone-alarm firewall plus regular checks with Spybot and Hi-jack this.
I don't have ie on my system any more in fact I've made a determined effort to have as few microsoft products as possible on my system, not just because I have a dislike for their software (frankly there are many alternatives that are written better and have better support) but also because they are a major target for attack, I don't use word or outlook or mediaplayer etc.
I NEVER allow any program to automatically connect to the internet and I download all updates manually.
