Saw EJ in concert last year. God was he good! Favourite EJ songs go back to the beginning...early 70s. Your Song and Greatest Discovery. The second always makes me smile...I loved it even before I had my children.

Is that the song with the last line, "This is your brand new brother"? That song had a profound effect on me. Still does. It's very emotional.

Yes it is (sorry, you did not ask ME) ;-)

Peering out of tiny eyes
The grubby hands that gripped the rail
Wiped the window clean of frost
As the morning air laid on the latch

A whistle awakened someone there
Next door to the nursery just down the hall
A strange new sound you never heard before
A strange new sound that makes boys explore

Tread neat so small those little feet
Amid the morning his small heart beats
So much excitement yesterday
That must be rewarded must be displayed

Large hands lift him through the air
Excited eyes contain him there
The eyes of those he loves and knows
But what's this extra bed just here

His puzzled head tipped to one side
Amazement swims in those bright green eyes
Glancing down upon this thing
That make strange sounds, strange sounds that sing

In those silent happy seconds
That surround the sound of this event
A parent smile is made in moments
They have made for you a friend

And all you ever learned from them
Until you grew much older
Did not compare with when they said
This is your brand new brother
This is your brand new brother
This is your brand new brother

Yes. I loved it before I had my sons and even more after. They're so close in age it reminds me of them. Agreed...I love it.

Sorry M's girl, didn't finish reading before I posted a reply. Thanks for the lyrics. Brought quivers just reading it.

I'm listening to some old Beatles tunes right now (well, I guess all Beatles tunes are old  ) but these are some of the ealier ones. Shit, I can even remember hearing some of these when i was a kid.

Crank up the volume, MrWag! I want to hear them too! :nana:

I did, but it didn't turn out good. my wife and daughter were watching tv, and i decided to go out for a swim at about 8. i turned on the stereo, but kept the switch for the main speakers off so I wouldn't bother them (the stereo is in the next room from the TV they were watching). I eyeballed the location of the classic rock station i wanted to listen to, and since the signal was full strength, i thought I got the right station (it's not a digital tuner :( ).
So I went outside, a half-way decent song was playing, I cranked up the volume, and got in the pool.

Much to my horror, the song ended, and it was the Delilah show!
This belongs in the What Pisses You Off thread.

Quoll's new Av leads me to believe another secret pact has been formed, stemming from the Sack Pack devision, and only few dare to admid they are part of this 'Uber Weenie Wing Thing'...

The question now is: are they the right, or the left wing? Or can you even determine that with Uber Weenies that are, uhm... not extensive :D enough to be either left or right?

:D Frankly, I have to listen to it again I guess because I don't know it too well. It's on a CD I own so I will play it and listen to it with you 'guys' in mind. Although I have no children of my own (M has two little boys) I can imagine how a song like this, lyrics like this, can bring you to tears. :rose:

Wow... kewl song! I had to listen to it on Rhapsody.... you're right, pretty powerful words. I can see how this could move someone to tears.

Ringo Starr's "Photograph" was one such song for me. It was the song I heard on the radio immediately after my mom called me and my brother to tell us that our grandfather had died (I was a senior in HS at the time - she was with her father when he passed). The words just so fit the situation at the time, that I broke down in tears every time I heard it. In fact, I heard it on XM the other day and it was the first time that I can recall that I did NOT break down....

On the EJ note, there's so many I like, depending on the mood I'm in at the time. I guess "The Bitch is Back" would have to rank pretty high on my list.

You too, eh? Delilah is...excrutiating. I cannot listen to that woman.

Do you care to expand on this?

I can honestly say that I'm a "card-carrying" BITCH, too.... a moniker given to me by my previous BF (we parted as friends - sadly, distance was the relationship-killer!).

Why is David Hasselhoff a celebrity? I mean I know "Baywatch", but he's just so...annoying.

question for PTM... did you ever patch that hole in the wall????

I'm hoping it's a misquote in the paper today, but is the Amber Alert system really 10 years old???

The funny thing EJ, is that my suitcase is sitting in front of said hole to keep the dog from making it bigger or anyone seeing it!
