Saw EJ in concert last year. God was he good! Favourite EJ songs go back to the beginning...early 70s. Your Song and Greatest Discovery. The second always makes me smile...I loved it even before I had my children.

Is that the song with the last line, "This is your brand new brother"? That song had a profound effect on me. Still does. It's very emotional.

I'm listening to some old Beatles tunes right now (well, I guess all Beatles tunes are old ) but these are some of the ealier ones. Shit, I can even remember hearing some of these when i was a kid.

I did, but it didn't turn out good. my wife and daughter were watching tv, and i decided to go out for a swim at about 8. i turned on the stereo, but kept the switch for the main speakers off so I wouldn't bother them (the stereo is in the next room from the TV they were watching). I eyeballed the location of the classic rock station i wanted to listen to, and since the signal was full strength, i thought I got the right station (it's not a digital tuner ).
So I went outside, a half-way decent song was playing, I cranked up the volume, and got in the pool.

Much to my horror, the song ended, and it was the Delilah show!

Frankly, I have to listen to it again I guess because I don't know it too well. It's on a CD I own so I will play it and listen to it with you 'guys' in mind. Although I have no children of my own (M has two little boys) I can imagine how a song like this, lyrics like this, can bring you to tears.

Wow... kewl song! I had to listen to it on Rhapsody.... you're right, pretty powerful words. I can see how this could move someone to tears.

Ringo Starr's "Photograph" was one such song for me. It was the song I heard on the radio immediately after my mom called me and my brother to tell us that our grandfather had died (I was a senior in HS at the time - she was with her father when he passed). The words just so fit the situation at the time, that I broke down in tears every time I heard it. In fact, I heard it on XM the other day and it was the first time that I can recall that I did NOT break down....

On the EJ note, there's so many I like, depending on the mood I'm in at the time. I guess "The Bitch is Back" would have to rank pretty high on my list.
