Totally agree. I think there may be three gender-based axes: Friendship, Romantic, and Sexual. Where one falls on one of these axes doesn't necessarily affect where you are on either of the others. For example, I can be sexually attracted to another guy even though I feel no romantic attraction whatsoever. Or I can feel a strong friendship with a guy without any romantic or sexual feelings.
