Question time again. How many posters on bdsm post on the General Board.

i post here and on the Playground. The GB scares me, as there are so many different personalities there. So, i just post here and to the BDSM Flirt thread on the Playground.

I think (though I'd have to search to verify it) that my first home was the Author's Hangout, although I've not posted there frequently (or memorably?) enough to be considered a regular. Moved over here when all I had was an interest. I did the GB for a week or two, which was long enough to acclimate myself to the high speed interaction, but once I stopped, I've found it almost impossible to go back. I do "How To" every so often, when it's interesting to me, and I've recently developed a fondness for the GLBT board. Kind of an "everything bagel" gal myself.

I post on the GB, here and occasionally on the Playground in that order...I used to favour the Forum to the GB, but it's been becoming progressively more narrow and less colorful since MissT became Mod.

Splitting the BDSM section in two was a stupid idea and will further ostracize those who want to talk about BDSM.

The string of pseudo subs who have moderated the BDSM Forum since its inception have all eventually revealed themselves as ISTJ control freaks...it's been driving traffic away for over a year.

Hi Lance,

You said,

Evidence?

Splitting the BDSM section in two was a stupid idea and will further ostracize those who want to talk about BDSM.

I myself --with one exception--don't see much point to the split. However, to judge 'success' or whether it's 'working', one would have to know what the intent was, of those who made the split. Exception: As a purely commercial decision, maybe it's like replacing a smoky old cafe with regulars who read and talk a lot (and buy a cup of coffee in one evening), with a Starbucks.

I agree with the presence of 'control freaks' among alleged subs
(there's a fine topic!). What's not been demonstrated, is that, in this case, Miss T's exercise of control 'dr[ove] any traffic away'.
(Which is not to dispute your assessment of 'quality' of the forum, just your causal analyis.)

Iow, was anything interesting suppressed or prevented? So far the answer appears to be 'no'. As evidence I cite the absence of anything scandalous, vituperative, savage, 'edgy' or plain disgusting at the 'cafe.'

In you take any genuine case of 'control' or 'censorship' as in, say, the Soviet Union under Stalin or Iraq under Saddam, the lifting of controls quickly produces a gush, an outflow, and abundance of criticism, creativity, debate, etc. --a sort of Spring of 'free speech'-- that was arguably prevented before.

In the present case, taking you or Cheyenne as examples, the lifting of controls has not produced anything wild or pushing the envelope, something that could only be published in GB or the most uncensored of fora. Indeed, virtually everything you or she-- or anyone-- has said in the Cafe could easily, and without interference, have been posted before, without incident.

As to the ISTJ idea..... well, if it's the 'myers briggs' claptrap I'm not sure it sheds any light on things here.

My first "home" at Lit was the Sexual Roleplay Forum. Spent a lot of time there, and still have a certain fondness for it though I don't write roleplays anymore.

Basically I float between all the forums. Well, I don't spend much time in the Editor's forum and none in the Cafe. I have a tendency to go in cycles, which is strange. Anyway, it is interesting to get to know different people here at Lit.

What is the GB? :D

I post there a lot, actually, a majority of the time. I used to post pretty much exclusively on this forum, but I think I "talked" myself out about BDSM!

I came straight to the BDSM section of the message board as soon as I discovered Lit.

I have wandered through posts on the General Board and How To...but don't think I have posted anywhere but in BDSM Talk or the Cafe.

I have poked around some of the threads in the Author's area and the Awards threads, but mostly just out of curiosity

:D

Here, there, and not quite everywhere

Mainly I post here... since most of my postings have a bd or sm undercurrent I sometiumes think I'm out of place. But do feel welcome. When I post elsewhere it's usually in story ideas, or discussions with editors.

I do lurk around a bit.

Have never tried the Cafe, but will.

I am pretty new here... but started here in BDsm... then finally made my own pic thread (amateurs pics).... then was pm'ed to check out the general board... posted a bit there....but find my self back this way.... Hmmm...

I started at Lit on the GB, then found this board. I have also posted on other boards here at Lit, but find myself drawn back to this one. I have to say the new cafe seems like a nice place too.

I have alot of catching up to do with my recent absence...lol.

I think I've been to the GB once, but didn't find anything of interest to click on to actually read. I went to one other board once to ask a story posting question, but I don't recall which board that was. I've never been to any of the other boards.

I came here first with the intentions of posting stories, and actually did post a couple, but soon realized that this wasn't the kind of story-sharing site I was looking for. But in the mean time I had found this board, and liked it enough to come back fairly often to read and post, although I do take sporadic breaks. It has its issues, but what the heck discussion board doesn't.

Have a Good day bdsm'ers.:) Post. Post Post.

I like you came here from the General Board out of curiosity but just recently began to post here. But I too continue to post in any forum that interests me enough to respond to it.

Don't do it for me

Until I entered this thread I never gave it much thought, but having explored the GB much since I saw this posting I've come to appreciate the BDSM thread even more. The writitng related and editing threads are exceptions. Now where is "incest", that might be an exception.
