Quote of the Day!

-Is love just a biochemical response in our brains to ensure reproduction?

-I don't know, but whatever it is, it's keeping me from killing you right now.

My quote for the day comes from the show Burn Notice -

Phebe said "If something seems to good to be true, its best to shoot it just incase"

For my sweet Cherry :rose: My heart goes out to you darling, I thought this appropriate...

"I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge -- myth is more potent than history -- dreams are more powerful than facts -- hope always triumphs over experience -- laughter is the cure for grief -- love is stronger than death."

~ Robert Fulghum ~

Life is pain...well, at least I know I'm alive.

-Self

I always hated that 'til death do us part' bit in the vows...it always seems like that's the escape clause.

"The moving finger writes, and, having writ, moves on
Nor all thy piety nor wit, shall lure it back to cancel half a line ,
Nor all thy tears wash out one word of it"

Omar Khyyam 1048 - 1131 AD Persian Philosopher

Poet and Playwright Oscar Wilde

this is from his poem "The Ballad Of Reading Gaol" He wrote this while imprisoned here for being homosexual.

"Yet each man kills the thing he loves
By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!"

Quote of the Day!

Stolen from Spake's Siggy:eek:

~ There's a time when a man has to realize that he needs to take a stand and fight for what he believes in. And there are times when a man realizes that he needs to accept that his hopes and dreams have been lost, that ship has already set sail and that only a fool would attempt to continue with that course. And the truth is that I've always been a fool. ~
The Movie The Big Fish

Quote of the Day!

~Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past me I will turn to see fear's path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. ~
Frank Herbert

Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get.~ Dale Carnegie.

X Men Quotes - watched it last night and I love the banter between Scott and Logan so here are my two favourites!

Logan: "Aren't you going to tell me to stay away from your girl?"

Scott: "If I had to do that; she wouldn't be my girl."

~ II ~

Logan: "Hey, hey! It's me."

Scott: "Prove it."

Logan: "You're a dick."

Scott: "Well okay."

This was said to me a few weeks ago by one of my closest friends, I have known her for going on 10 years now, and our relationship has been through hell and back, but going strong.

"You continue to amaze me. You have seen me at my worst, and I have done my worst to you to drive you away, but still you stand by my side, you support me, you love me. You have shown me the true meaning of unconditional, self sacrificing love. For that I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

It seems that I have inspired a Shakespeare run:)

You spoke of school - now for a test!

Where are the following quotes from exactly , which play or sonnet or.....?

Unlike the others quotes previously these have not been on TV lately hehe

Quotes of the Day by William Shakespeare :rose: (1564 - 1616)

~ So dear I love him that with him, all deaths I could endure. Without
him, live no life. ~

I'M PRETTY SURE THIS ONE'S JOHN MILTON, RATHER THAN SHAKESPEAR

~ They do not love that do not show their love.
The course of true love never did run smooth.
Love is a familiar. Love is a devil. There is no evil angel but Love ~

ROMEO AND JUILETTE

~ I'll follow you and make a heaven out of hell, and I'll die by your
hand which I love so well ~
PRETTY SURE ROMEO AND JUILETTE AGAIN, AT THE END WHEN HE FINDS HER DEAD AND KILLS HIMSELF

~ Doubt thou the stars are fire; Doubt that the sun doth move;Doubt truth to be a liar; But never doubt I love. ~

~ Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds. ~

FRIAR LAURENCE OUT OF r&j

He also has the line, when Romeo transfers his attention to Juilette "Young men's love, it seems then lies, not truely in their hearts, but in their eyes!"

I did Romeo and Juilette in School in 1985 - being a convent school, all the parts were divided out and I got Friar Laurance!! We got to watch a movie of the play too, but of course the nuns edited it. You have Romeo climbing on the balcony, then about 6 mins of fuzzy screen then Romeo climbing down again. They need not have bothered! Whatever they edited out, didn't hold a candle to what we all IMAGINED was happening!!!!
