Random Acts of Kindness

Not that I am hijacking the thread...but I like my French toast to be a puddle of eggs, garlic and onion powder, some fresh ground pepper and a sprinkle of salt, and if I want it to have a little more fire, some cayenne pepper, paprika and tabasco sauce.

I have never really liked it as cinnamon toast. ;)
Not that I'm hijacking my own thread, but what kind(s) of condiment(s) would fit with that concoction, Ezzy? Butter?

Redirecting the thread...

French toast preferences aside, I still love the idea of RAK's. My only problem is that I seem to be the recipient of them more often than I give them. Most of the acts of kindness that I give, and I do as many in a day as can come to mind, are not very random at all, but directed at specific souls.

For strangers, though, I do hold doors if my hands are free, give extra on a tip for supper if a waiter/waittress seems young or possibly having a bad day, and keep my classroom door open after school in case some student (whether in one of my classes or not) needs an adult with whom to talk.

I should've waited a few minutes longer before trying to steer it back for ya. :p

About the only thing I can do now is to make some French toast and pass it out to random strangers walking past. :)

Well, those all seem like great acts to me. :) I'm not sure how much the random part matters...it appears they all accomplish the same goal.

A dollop of ketchup and if I am feeling naughty a knife dipped in the horseradish sauce...I know it sounds like some sort of ancient torture, but it tastes delicious.

One of my favorite sections of the Sunday paper is "Rants and Raves." I'm often shocked by how horrible people are when things like stealing a diabetic's insulin pump or the money jar kids are using to collect for a charity happens, but that's always offset by the takes of RAK. One from this week:

"A big rave to the couple who paid our dinner bill Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Alki Homestead. We were celebrating our 80th birthdays, and didn't know until we asked for the check that someone had paid it. Your generosity added an unexpected gift to our celebration. We send a grateful thank you to you both for your kindness!"
