I've sent PM's and gotten some replies, I generally try to read several posts to see if I can get a "feel" for what the recipient would like. I also read profiles first. I've had feedback, but most ladies are likely so overwhelmed they just give up replying.
I do try to bring some humor to the PM, but I feel like it can sound so forced.
On the flip side, I only think I've ever received one PM out of the blue.

That's why I added I usually will read your profile and a few of your posts before responding; those with little of either may be SOL. to my profile.
I like ti match what they say about themselves to what they actually post.
If I can't get a feel for who I am talking to, I won't bother.

I have neither started a dirty PM or received one randomly. I have sent a PM at times to a person who either posted something intriguing or has a story that I enjoyed.
I do enjoy talking with people from everywhere, but the fear of intruding prevents me from randomly sending a dirty PM.
If, on the other hand, it is invited I will give it a shot.

There is, from the male perspective, a perception of reduced expectation when it comes to chatting up girls on a website like this. Unfortunately, some set take too much liberty with that.

I actually dont mind getting random PMs. A majority of them actually havent been that dirty to start off with, I have sent a few random PMs myself but I refuse to reply to anyone who doesnt have any posts. I like to know what kind of person in general I am talking to.
Neither do I. I've met some really cool people through getting random PMs.
