If I had cast Rogue, I would have made my choice not based on "Who'd appeal most to teens". I'd have chosen based on "Does she act/speak like Rogue, and can she easily be made to look like Rogue. And is she the right age." Because at the point in time the movie is supposed to take place, Rogue should be a lot older. After all, Gambit's supposed to be about the same age (if not younger), and he's an adult in the Wolverine movie.
You're right, Razor, that wierded me out too, since Gambit and Rogue's relationship was one of my favorite ones from the comics, but now it'd just be creepy.
I think Anna Paquin did better with the southern accent as Sookie than she did with Rogue.
So, Razor, if you were casting X-men 4, who would you cast for Rogue assuming Paquin's too busy on True Blood?
*laughs* Sadly, he's the most believable character in the movies.can't think of one either.
Not so sure about Dazzler, more concerned about balance. My big gripe with the first three was that it wasn't the X-men it was Hugh Jackman as Wolverine!!!!! oh and his whacky sidekicks the x-men. but I suppose that's just the hollywood machine at work.
*laughs* Sadly, he's the most believable character in the movies.
thanks to Jackman's performance of him, yeah, but how much of that was Jackman and how much was Wolverine centric scripts.
Izzy here! So who likes my signature <3 ^^
Yeah, not knocking Jackman's casting one bit.
Didn't mind Hally as storm, though I'd have thought she'd try for an african accent. They chose her cuz she's a star, and they thought it might need a star's power to drive the movie-makes sense to me.
I thought Marsden as Cyke was good and the woman who played Jean (name escapes me) was good too. the cast was good. the problem was that the movie was heavy on Rogue and Wolverine and too light on all the others. Or atleast that was the problem with one two and three for me.
The X-men as good as successful as they in the box office are aren't really a good movie franchise they have just too many characters to pay the proper respect too. It'd work much better as a TV show where they could devote an episode for this one then that one, not to mention build up the outside world's and Magneeto's plotting and scheming on our uncanny heroes.
Hmm Im so bored right now xD I wish I could sing but my throat is killing me. So how is everyone's day?
Heh. There's a lot of things I'd have not done. They did a good job of casting Colossus, but he wasn't Russian, as far as I know. The CHARACTER is, though. Their portrayal of Cain Marko was all wrong, but for some reason, the way the actor played him seemed perfect to me. It just seemed right to hear how he introduced himself to Kitty.
I have this urge to do another X-men thread....
Colossus was the biggest geek out moment for me in X2, that and siren.
That reminds me if Siren or Banshee stood behind Dazzler and used their screams how fucking big and powerful would Dazzler's lazer blasts be?
And uh oh, I have given, Razor an urge for another thread. Everyone else has my sincere apologies
Random thought from MD~
I spent over 24 hours cut off from the world and I loved it...does that mean I need more time away?
