Remember your first car...

first car

Don't remember the year, I think it was late 70's. Shit brown Chevy Citation. I thought I was hot shit with a car. Most of my friends didn't have one yet. Lots of GOOD times in that car. My folks gave it to me in exchange I had to babysit my sister and pay for all the gas, insurance and up keep. I don't even think it had a tape deck. Had to give it back though when I eloped and moved out. So first car I (we) bought was a 78 diesel rabbit. Great little car until the "U" joint rusted out in the middle of an intersection.

Mine was a maroon '93 Ford Taurus. My parents gave it to me since it was on its last leg and they were tired of picking me up from work in high school. Just what every 16 year old guy wants, a maroon car that breaks down. But hey, it was better than walking home from work in the winter.

My first car was a 91 Chevy caprice. That Fucker was a beast! Engine went at 230k miles. Dad and I dropped a junkyard engine into it. Got me another 30k out of it before upkeep just got goofy.

Now first car I paid for all by myself?

My 01 jeep. Got it 3 years ago. 220k miles and a rock solid body. I love that thing.

Had a 1963 Dodge 9 passenger wagon, with a 318 V8. It looked something like this.

LeMans and Turbo

Mine was a lime green 1969 Pontiac LeMans. It was one of our family cars, but my parents let me take it when I left home for work a couple of states away. It was the family version of the GTO with that coke bottle shape. 350 V8 with anti sway bars from the GTO. That car could handle for an American V8. If the back seat could talk ... :D

The first car I brought myself was a burgundy 1978 SAAB Turbo 99. The shape of the SAAB was different looking. The interior was very comfortable and very well use of space for a sport sedan. When I took it out for the test drive and the turbo kicked in ... MINE !!! Both front seats reclined back flat. The back seat folded forward to make it into a wagon. But by than I had my own place so the back seat was 'less' utilized.

That car saved me when I was caught in the middle of a multi car accident on the freeway. It was totaled and I walked away from the accident.

Very fond memories with those two 'first' cars.

first car

Mine was a little pick up truck. A 1974, dark metallic blue datsun pickup truck—4 speed manual, complete with 8-track tape player and everything. ... A step up from the ol' Honda 50, my "too-girly" 10-speed bike, the two-leg express, or my sis's mean ass of a horse... all previous modes of transportation for me.

Mine was an '81 Chevy Chevette...which I shared with my brother and the license plate was
EZ 927, not kidding, driving to high school with that license plate was just asking for torment. Sometimes I think my dad registered it that way on purpose LOL!

I had to look back at this post. Life was so easy then. Someone asked me if that car was good on gas just the other day. You know, I couldn't remember. My dad gave me a gas card and I didn't give it a second thought.

Life was hella easy:D

Am I giving my son a gas card?
Nope.

Yes, life was so easy and care-free back then! I wanna go back!:)

my parents gave it to me.

blue 69 Mustang fastback. loved that car. wish I had it now.

I got mine in 1999 when I turned 16. It was a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix. I loved the car. It was a nice first car that's for sure. I masturbated in that car a lot. Driving to school. Driving home from school. That thing probably would glow I you shined a black light on it.

My parents had a brand new Grand Prix at the time and about a year after that they gave me theirs when they bought a new one. So my second car came at about 17 and it was almost brand new. That was a great car too. I had it until just about 2 years ago. Lots of semen in that car too.

You must had the boys lining up to take you out. :D

I think if your dad registered that license it would have been
HERPS 4ME. Just to keep the boys away.

Either way...I was mortified and yes a lot of boys wanted to take me up on that offer; but fate stepped and I also had my first accident with that car while shopping, the insurance co. "totalled" the car....LOL

A POS Ford Tempo, from the mid-eighties. It spent more time on a hoist and with it's hood up than I spent driving it.
I still think of that heap of junk everytime I hear the phrase "last one out on Friday or the first one out on Monday".
It had a terrible red cloth interior that the sun changed to a pissy-yellowish orange near all the windows, and bleached out in areas where bodily fluids came in contact with the fabric. The first 5 - 6 inches of the reclining front passenger seat got so bad I had to invest in seat covers

Yuck! I really would like to have my 62 Chevy back!

My first car was a 76 Camaro, and oh the rear tires I went through. My first new car was an 84 Trans Am.

A metallic blue 1942 Buick Special Straight 8. Had 103303 miles on it when I bought it for $95 in 1953. Drove it to 110,500. Rebult the dashboard to my aluminim custom design, from the wrecking yards got a new passenger door, and a sunvisor, the big wide ones. Reupholstered the doors.

My next car was a 1951 Buick Roadmaster in 1955, that I paid $500 for. Rebuilt the engine myself when I was about 19 or 20. Drove it for 55000 miles, then had to sell it in Roswell NM because a rod bearing went out and after having it fixed, it did it again and I had no money to fix it again.

It was a beautiful car, but had no air conditioning.

69 mustang coupe that the old man and I rebuilt, mostly him... this was 12 years ago. Now it goes much faster:) I will never sell this car and my wife told me that... :). And that's why we are married because. She understands the addiction. Btw that's where my screen name started.

'67 Mustang. Drew more attention from the police than any car I've ever heard of - only a small amount from me being stupid with it! Car (springs I think) used to moan when I got it rocking in a certain way ;). Was actually a bit awkward! Fond memories!

Mine was a 1979 pontiac firebird formula limited addition. Bought it when I turned 16 and paid 2000. It had the 403 and four wheel disc brakes and only 25,000 miles on it. Wish I still had it but I crash it 5 yrs later. It was beyond fixable. I still kick my self in the ass for wrecking it.

Lotus Europa

Not quite 'my car', but the first car I learned how to drive a standard transmission was my brother's Lotus Europa. It was actually a Stage 4 ELSE Europa for you car buffs. So low to the ground that I had to insert and roll into the car. Getting out was just the reverse.

He let me borrow the car to impressed the girls. I was 'always' a gentleman opening and the door and closing the door for my date. That car being so low to the ground, Its always a great show when the ladies were wearing skirts. That is why I 'alway' hold the door for them.

Wished we still had that car.
